Snowfall Thinlits Silver Snowflake Cards
I think that the Snowfall Thinlits may very well be the most spectacular snowflake dies Stampin' Up! has ever offered! I'm so sad that I've gotten so little time to play with them before they are gone for good on Friday.
Background Basics—This card begins with a Bermuda Bay card base. I stamped some with the Snow Is Glistening snowfall image across the top with Bermuda Bay ink. Then, created a foundation for the snowflake by layering a 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" piece of Whisper White onto a 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" piece of Silver Foil. I embossed the Silver Foil with the Subtle Texture Impressions Folder and I love how it creates a "subtle" pattern that really catches the light and adds extra shine! It's adhered to the card front with SNAIL adhesive after embossing the sentiment.
Sweet Sentiment—After rubbing the card front with an Embossing Buddy to eliminate static and any finger oils, I stamped the Snow Is Glistening sentiment in clear VersaMark ink on the bottom. I sprinkled on Silver Embossing powder, tapped off the excess, then heat-set it with the Heat Tool until glossy and smooth.
Stunning Snowflake—The snowflake showpiece is created with three Snowfall Thinlits die-cut layers. The largest snowflake is cut from Galvanized Metallic Paper and it's attached to the card with Glue Dots. Next, I layered a shiny Silver Foil medium snowflake die-cut onto a plain white snowflake shape with Glue Dots and popped up the entire element with Dimensionals.
Two Cool—My second version begins with a Gorgeous Grape card base and Gorgeous Grape snowfall images across the top.
Other than the Gorgeous Grape Mini Striped Ribbon, all of the rest of the elements are identical. Which color do you like best?
