Snowy Wonder Snowman Greetings Card
I enjoy exploring lots of different color combinations when I’m creating cards. I typically start with the color combinations featured in a suite or Designer Series Paper, then experiment by adding some unlikely colors. For this card, I started with the DSP, and felt like the variations in the greens and blues allowed me to bring in a more muted look with Mossy Meadow and Lost Lagoon, even though the colors in the paper are Garden Green and Pool Party. I love the results…how about you?
Box Basics
I started with a 3″ x 4″ pattern from the Snowy Scenes Designer Series Paper that I matted onto a 3-1/8″ x 3-1/4″ piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock. I layered that onto a 3-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ piece of Pool Party cardstock, then mounted the background onto a Mossy Meadow card base.
Sweet Sentiment
I stamped the Snowy Wonder sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the left side of a 4″ x 1″ strip of cardstock. Then, I cut a strip of Pool Party Pompom Ribbon in half down the center and adhered the pompoms along the top and bottom of the sentiment with SEAL Adhesive. I mounted the sentiment across the background layers with more SEAL.
Focal Point
I created a focal point foundation by die-cutting a Lost Lagoon circle using the Spotlight on Nature Dies. It’s popped up with Dimensionals over the sentiment element.
Next, I stamped and die-cut Snowy Wonder images: a snowman and hat in Memento Black ink. large snowflake in stamped-off Lost Lagoon, medium snowflake in Lost Lagoon and small snowflake in Mossy Meadow. I also die-cut Pool Party and Mossy Meadow Snowy Wonder snowflakes. I assembled the snowman in the center of the circle and added a hat with SEAL Adhesive. Then, I added the stamped and die-cut snowflakes with a combination of Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches
I added a couple of black Sparkle Gems next to the snowflakes to create a “triangle” of black elements for a pleasing design. Super-cute!
