Ornamental banner - two cool

Can I just tell you how HAPPY I am about changing my last Countdown To Christmas to the Ornamental Pine set!  I absolutely love how fast and easy you can create a gorgeous card with these beautiful images!  And, they look great no matter how you stamp them!  I know you are gonna love this kit!  Eeeee!

Inspired by Susan Campfield at SueStampfield

Background Basics—This card begins with a 4" x 5-1/4" Very Vanilla background that has been embossed with the Filigree Frame Texture Impressions Folder.  It's adhered onto a Real Red card base.

Focal Point Facts—I stamped the pretty pine image in Old Olive ink on the top of a Very Vanilla Party Pennants Bigz XL die-cut.  The two pine cones were stamped in Chocolate Chip.  I topped the banner with a Real Red Woven Satin bow, adhered with a Glue Dot.  You'll receive a half spool of this gorgeous ribbon in your kit!

Frosted Pine Cones—I love the look of wintery pine cones, so I drew over the cones with a 2-Way Glue Pen and dusted on some Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  Sparkly!  You'll receive a jar of Dazzling Diamonds in your class kit, so you can go glitter crazy on all your cards!

Add It! You can add a 2-Way Glue Pen to your Ornamental Pine class kit for just $5 more.  (Psst!  It's also great for helping clear mount stamps stick to the block!)

Banner Bottom—I stamped more pine needles at the bottom, leaving enough room between the pine cones and needles to add the sentiment.  The greeting is from Ornamental Pine, stamped in Real Red ink onto a 3/4" wide strip of Very Vanilla, then trimmed down into a fish-tailed fanner using my Paper Snips.  Both the Party Pennants banner and the sentiment banner are popped up with Dimensionals.

More Sparklies—I added more Dazzling Diamonds to the pine needles, too, so the whole focal point is super sparkly!

TIP: You don't need to draw on glue over every single pine needle.  Simply pick a few needles here and there to represent the sparkliness.  Adding too many lines will just end up looking like a big blob of glitter, and blobs, even when sparkly, are not pretty.

For the second version, I simply changed the positioning of some of the pine needles to leave space for the ornament to hang.

Ornament—I stamped the ornament image in Early Espresso ink first, directly onto the banner.  Then, I stamped it again in Real Red onto scrap Very Vanilla card stock, hand-cut it out, and popped it up over the top with Dimensionals.  I only cut out the ball of the ornament, not the hanger, so this paper-pieced image ends up appearing in two different color layers.

Of course, I had to add a bit of Dazzling Diamonds to the ornament, too!

Finishing Touches—Since I had more pine needles at the top this time, I popped the sentiment over that area.  I wanted the ornament to get the attention, so I skipped the red bow this time, opting in stead to wrap the Woven Satin Ribbon around the background layer.
