♪ ♫ I'm Dreaming of a Purple Christmas! ♫ ♪
Last night, while I was peacefully dreaming of running through a golden wheatfield chasing butterflies, I was interrupted with a stamping vision! I bolted awake, ran to my studio, pushed the entire mess that is my craft table onto the floor, and created my dream card in less than 5 minutes!
OK—who am I kidding? It wasn't really like that. I did dream about the design, though. And, although it took about 1/2 hour to assemble (not bad), I did eventually create it. This morning. After my breakfast of leftover pizza.
Oooh! It's just like I'd imagined! All purply and sparkly. Wait! I think I might have to add a Basic Rhinestone to the center of the snowflake.
The Serene Snowflakes set is so lovely! I waited for many years for Stampin' Up! to come up with a beautiful set like this! Delicate, intricate designs. Snowflakes in a variety of sizes. I hope it stays around for a long time, because I have more visions of snowflakes dancing in my head!
I randomly stamped the flakes in Rich Razzleberry, Concord Crush, and Soft Suede ink to create the background. Like the French Foliage, or Vintage Vogue sets, this one is awesome for making backgrounds that look like decorative paper.
I added some pretty texture to the background by embossing the Rich Razzleberry card stock with the Northern Flurry Impressions Folder from the Holiday Mini Catalog. If you want to create some quick and simple holiday cards, this folder is perfect. It embosses snowflakes along the width and length of a full card front, leaving just enough room for a simple stamped sentiment!
Large Snowflake Details: The large snowflake is stamped three times, once in each color. I trimmed part of the Razzleberry image to layer on top of the Concord one, then punched only the 3/4" circle of the Suede color's center to pop up a third layer.
I outlined some of the design with my 2-Way Glue Pen and covered it in Dazzling Diamonds. You can see the sparklies better when you click on the closeup.
Other supplies: Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Modern Label Punch, retired Warm Words set.
