Spring 6×6″ Flip Album

1 Flip Album coverI'm SO very excited about the project we'll be making at our April Stamp
Club on Friday night: a special 6×6" Flip Album.  This awesome mini-scrapbook will hold more than 24 photos and provide
room for journaling—it may be small, but it packs a lot of punch!

Class Spaces Still Available

Space is limited for this class, but I still have some slots available on a first come, first serve basis.  Supply fee is $12, or $10 if you bring your own adhesive.  To participate at our Club Event, all guests are also required to place a minimum $15 order, just like our members.  Contact me today to reserve your space!

Project Details: One of my fellow demonstrators, Carmen DeBruce, found the instructions to make the Flip Album, originally designed by demonstrator Amy Celona.  You can see her samples and find the complete instructions at her website: uStamp4fun.com

Throughout the book, I used the Tea Party Designer Series Paper with coordinating colors: So
Saffron, Certainly Celery, Almost Amethyst, Whisper White and Pretty In
Pink.  This is a very versatile format, so you could choose a variety of styles, colors and embellishments to make it fit any occasion.

Since I was trying to keep the theme general, I thought The Celebrate Everything stamp set was a great, all-inclusive sentiment for the cover.  I embellished it with layers of die-cuts from the Blossom Party Die, which I thought went very well with the flowers in the designer paper.

The insides are mostly embellished with butterflies from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit from the Mini Occasions Catalog (only 2 weeks left on these items!).  I added sentiments throughout, created with a hodgepodge of stamp sets and punched with the Large Oval and Oval Scallop punches.  I'm bringing lots of stamps, tools and papers to the event, so attendees can personalize the album to fit their needs…I can't wait to see the results!  Hopefully, I'll have some to share with you, as well!

Ready to see the rest?  There are
SO many flips… (click photo to enlarge)

2 Flip Album

Open up the first page to the left and you have a little pocket
with a pull out piece for photos or journaling.  Underneath the pull-out (also on the cover), and inked in Pretty In Pink, I used the new Spring Floral Stampin' Around Wheel (available until April 30 in the Mini). Tabs are created with the Round Tab Punch

3 Flip Album

Open the next page to the right and you see another pocket with a
pull-out, along with a center panel.

4 Flip Album

Open the center panel to the left, and it gives you a new center
page, along with a page with a half panel flap!

5 Flip Album

Open the center panel again to the right, and you see
another page with a half panel on the other end, plus a new center with a
gate fold opening.  Isn't this exciting?!  There's more…

6 Flip Album

Here's a picture with the half panels on the end opened up.  It
just keeps going!

7 Flip Album

This is a close-up of the center gate folded panel opened
up!  Wait!  There's one more!

8 Flip Album

The white card stock in the middle unfolds to provide five more
spaces for photos on the front and back!

9 Flip Album

Here's the whole thing standing up on end so you can see all the
craziness of it!  Too Cool!  The best part is that it is surprisingly
simple to put together!  Amy Celona does a fantastic job with her Flip Book Tutorial, giving you exact cutting and scoring measurements for constructing the basic foundation of the album.  (I love CASEing, but you already knew that!)

The most difficult part of the project is deciding what colors and papers and embellishments to use—so many decisions!  I spent the most time laying out the patterned papers on different panels to make sure they worked well together even as pages flip open to create new spreads.  It was important to keep the inside embellishments as flat as possible to avoid adding too much bulk.  Once the photos are added, you want to be able to close the thing!

Too Cool Cards Contest

This is the last day to participate in my contest.  See complete details at the bottom of this post.  Winner will be announced tomorrow!
