One of the classic fun fold cards is the Joy Fold Card! It's a terrific design for spotlighting your favorite Designer Series Papers! Today, I'm sharing two joy fold cards with a similar design and featuring two different DSP packs from the current Buy 3, Get 1 FREE promotion.
Showcase your favorite Designer Series Papers with this quick-to-assemble Joy Fold card!
Background Basics—The base of this card has two parts: one part opens to the right and overlaps the other part that opens to the left. It starts with a Calypso Coral card base that measures 8-3/4" x 4-1/4" and is scored at the 3-1/4" mark. I adhered a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper to the inside that card base. Then, I decorated the front flap of that base with a 3" x 4" piece of Garden Impressions DSP.
Front Flap—Next, I cut a smaller Calypso Coral center card that measures 8" x 3" and is scored at the 4" mark.
Sentiment Layer—I stamped the Abstract Impressions sentiment in Crushed Curry ink onto a 3-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock. I added a 3-3/4" x 3/4" strip of another pattern from Garden Impressions across the bottom.
Focal Point—I die-cut the Melon Mambo butterfly using the Springtime Impressions Thinlits, along with the Precision Base Plate, through the Big Shot. It's attached to the card front with a couple of Glue Dots and the wings were bent up for more dimension. I topped the center of the butterfly with some Pearl Jewels.
The front flap card base is adhered with Tear & Tape Adhesive to the center of the main card base. You can see how the fronts overlap in the above video.
Inside The Card—I finished up by adding a second sentiment from Abstract Impressions in Crushed Curry ink onto a 3-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Whisper White.
Bundle It & SAVE—Purchase the Abstract Impressions stamp set and Springtime Impressions Thinlits together as a bundle to save 10%.
Two Cool—For the second version, I started with a Mint Macaron card base and second front card flap. The backgrounds are decorated with patterns from the Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper. That grunge-textured paper adds a distressed look to cards and is so versatile!
The butterfly is cut from Night of Navy cardstock and the sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy ink.
