Hi Stamping Friends!
Wheeeee! Yesterday was an exciting whirlwind day as we got the release of the 2017 Retired List AND Stampin' Up! demonstrators got to view the brand new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog online!
I haven't had much time to look through the new catalog yet, since we had our monthly Too Cool Team event last night, but what I've seen so far is awesome! With only a quick run-thru, my first impression was that I LOVED all of the delightful, and sometimes striking, color combinations! Those new In Colors really give our traditional colors a fresh and exciting boost! And, as far as amazing new stamps, tools and embellishments…Stampin' Up! has knocked it out of the park once again!

I did a Facebook LIVE video yesterday on my Too Cool Stamping Facebook page an hour after the Retired List release. The purpose was to help you mark your catalog without having to look back-and-forth at the 10-page list. I hope that it helps!

►New Lower Price For Oh So Succulent Class!
The Oh So Succulent Suite of products is not only on the Retired List…it's also on SALE! That is great news! I've adjusted the pricing on my Stamp-of-the-Month class featuring these beautiful stamps, papers and dies to reflect the discounted prices! You can save $10 on the basic class and $16 on the class with the add-on Thinlits! Wow! If you have already ordered this class, you will be receiving a refund for the adjusted amount!
Please note: The items in the class are now While Supplies Last Only, meaning the availability of this class could change. Although I typically wait until registration ends to place all my class orders, due to the fluidity of the Retired List, I'll be placing orders periodically from today until registration closes on April 19. So, the sooner you register, the better your chance of receiving this class before a sell-out!
Class-To-Go Kits Mail April 26. Register by April 19.

Succulent Gingham Birthday Cards
I was sad to see that the Oh So Succulent stamp set didn't make it into the new catalog…those flowers are so, so pretty! On these two cool class cards, you'll use the stamps to create a beautiful background. No, that's not Designer Series Paper on this card…it's actually stamped! I'll walk you through how to create this look in the Succulent class video tutorial, so you can create this look, too!
Stamped Succulents—I started this card by stamping the floral pattern onto a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White card stock. The larger flowers in this set are two-step images—one for the outline and one for the solid color inside.
TIPS: I recommend stamping the outline of the flower first, because it's easier to line up the lighter solid color image over the top, especially if your photopolymer stamp is a little stained. I also "stamped off" the solid color once before stamping it over the top, to get a lighter version of the color.
- Stamp the outline of the largest flower in Sweet Sugarplum about 5 times over the top half of card stock.
- Stamp the solid image of the largest flower in stamped-off Sweet Sugarplum over the outlines.
- Stamp the small two-step flower outline in Watermelon Wonder in between the larger flowers.
- Stamp the small solid flower solid image in stamped-off Watermelon Wonder over the oultines.
- Stamp the tiny solid flower in Mint Macaron in the blank spaces.
- Stamp the trio of circles in Tip Top Taupe to fill in the rest of the spaces.
Background Basics—I adhered a 3-3/4" x 1-3/4" piece of the Tip Top Taupe gingham pattern of paper from the Succulent Garden DSP pack. After mounting the stamped layer onto a 4" x 5-1/4" layer of Mint Macaron card stock, I tied some Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon around the layers and adhered it to a Whisper White card base.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Oh So Succulent sentiment in Tip Top Taupe ink onto Whisper White card stock, then die cut it with the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits label. I also die cut a scalloped oval with the Layering Ovals Framelits, then cut it in half length-wise and adhered the halves on the top and bottom of the label to create a frame. The layers are popped up with Dimensionals over the ribbon. I finished by adding a couple Pearl Jewels.
Two Cool—My class kit includes supplies to make this second version of the card, as well. This time, I stamped the larger flowers in Mint Macaron, the small flowers in Sweet Sugarplum, and the tiny flower in Watermelon Wonder. It's wrapped in Mint Macaron Sheer Linen Ribbon and the mats are in Sweet Sugarplum card stock. I love the look of both! Which one is your favorite?
