Stippled Roses Sponged Birthday Cards
The large floral image from Stippled Roses is simply magnificent! It looks amazing with or without coloring added! On this pair of cards, I wanted to do a spotlight look, so I used my Sponge Daubers to add some color to the two largest roses to really make them stand out.

Background Basics
I started by stamping the large leaf Stippled Roses image in Pebbled Path ink onto the Pebbled Path card base. I wanted the leaves to look like they were coming out from behind my focal point, so I kept that in mind with positioning. Next, I added a 3″ x 4″ piece of Softly Stippled Designer Series paper to a 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ piece of Pebbled Path cardstock and mounted it onto the card front for a local point foundation.
Lovely Rose Base
My first layer of roses is simply stamping the large Stippled Roses floral image in Pebbled Path ink onto Basic White cardstock. I die-cut it with the Stippled Roses die, then adhered it onto the DSP with SEAL Adhesive.
Then, I die-cut a Pebbled Path leafy branch with the Stippled Roses Dies, trimmed the piece apart into two small pieces. Using the stamped image as a guide, I adhered the pieces so that they would be coming out from behind the two large roses in the center. They are adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Pretty Roses
I inked the large floral Stippled Roses image in Wild Wheat first, then before stamping, I used a Sponge Dauber to add just a hint of Calypso Coral ink to the centers of the flowers. When the image is stamped it has a beautiful two-color look! I fussy-cut the two flowers with my super-sharp Paper Snips and popped them up with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches
I stamped a Pebbled Path Stippled Roses sentiment onto a 3″ x 3/8″ strip of Basic White, trimmed the ends at a diagonal and popped it up. I finished by adding a few Iridescent Foil Gems around the focal point flowers.
Two Cool
Oooh, I just love how my second version turned out! I stamped the background flowers in Pretty Peacock ink onto a Pretty Peacock card base. I selected a different pattern of Softly Stippled DSP and adhered that to a Lost Lagoon layer this time.
Focal Point
The first layer of roses is stamped in Pretty Peacock ink. I layered some Lost Lagoon die-cut leaves over the top. Finally, my focal point roses were inked in Lost Lagoon and sponged in Wild Wheat ink before stamping them, cutting them out and popping them up.
Finishing Touches
I finished with the same sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink and Pretty Peacock Blooming Pearls. So nice!
