Hi Stamping Friends!

Today I'm sharing a stunning little gift that's as handy as it is pretty!  It's one of the projects that we'll be creating at my Quick & Cool Stocking Stuffer class next Thursday!  Let's take a closer look!

Winter Wonderland Matchbook Post-It Notes Holder

I'm loving the elegant black, white & gold color combination of the Winter Wonderland Designer Series Paper.  Not only do these papers create stunning cards, but they also look amazing other holiday projects like party favors!  I could see this Matchbook Post-It Note Holder next to a place setting on an elegantly decorated holiday table!  What a lovely and thoughtful way to treat your guests!

Matchbook Instructions

  • Start with a 8-1/4" x 3-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock.
  • Score along the 8-1/4" side at the 3-1/4", 3-1/2" and 7-1/4" marks and fold on all of the lines with Bone Folder.
  • Staple the bottom 1" flap with two staples about 1/8" up from the fold line using the Handheld Stapler.
  • Decorate!

Background Basics—I decorated the front cover with a 3" square piece of the Winter Wonderland Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This DSP has all glossy-coated papers with beautiful golden accents…so classy!  The bottom flap features a 3" x 3/4" strip of the gold foil and black striped pattern which is my favorite!  This piece will cover up the staples on the front.

Snowflake Medallion—I stamped the medium snowflake from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set in Archival Black onto Whisper White.  It's punched out with the Flower Medallion Punch, then raised up with Dimensionals.  I added a pop of shiny Gold Foil, punched from a 1-1/2" Circle Punch and SNAILed onto the snowflake.  Next, I stamped the smallest Flurry of Wishes snowflake and punched it out with the Snow Flurry Punch, then popped it up with Dimensionals.

Finishing Touches—The Snowflake Embellishments look fabulous adhered on top with a couple of Glue Dots.  I topped off the medallion with a Gold Cording Trim bow, attached with a Glue Dot.

Sticky Notes—I added a 1/2 pad of 3" x 3" sticky notes to the inside with Tear & Tape Adhesive. The cover should close and tuck into the flap easily without bending or bulging.

Matchbook notes - white trees

Two Cool—I did a second version that has the flipside of the Winter Wonderland DSP for the cover.  Just that one change gives it a completely different look, don't you think?

Complete Supplies List—"Clear" means a rubber stamp on a clear block. "Photopolymer" is see-thru.
