Hi Stamping Friends!

One of my most popular craft fair items was my Hershey's Nugget Tins!  I got the idea from Amanda Rogers at Stamp Right Meow and knew I had to try them!  They are the perfect size and price point for a small gift for neighbors, co-workers, teachers and friends!  If you order the tins right now, you will likely have them in time to create some last-minute stocking stuffers!  Or, plan ahead to use the idea for some Valentine's Treats!

Order Nugget Tins—You can order the Hinged Metal Tins from SpecialtyBottle.com.

Nugget Tins Tutorial—Amanda has a helpful Nugget Tins Tutorial Video.

Here are some of the tins that I offered at my craft fair booth this year.  I still have a few available for purchase…contact me if you're interested!

Nugget tins - snowflake two cool

Flurry of Wishes Snowflake Hershey's Nugget Tins

The best part about making these gifts is that you can use up lots of scraps from your favorite Designer Series Papers!  I had some pretty Winter Frost retired paper that I put to good use for my two cool snowflake versions of the tins!

Nugget tins - snowflake wraps

Nugget Wraps—I cut 3" x 1" strips of the DSP and wrapped them around the Hershey's Nuggets.  Amanda suggested using regular old transparent tape to attach the paper.  She said that other adhesives she tried simply didn't hold the paper wraps in place, even extra sticky adhesives like Tear & Tape.  You can't see the tape anyway, and those nuggets are meant to be opened, so regular tape worked great!  12 nuggets fit nicely inside the tin!

  Nugget tins - snowflake indigo

Belly Band—I created a belly band to wrap slide onto the tin using a 2-1/2" x 11" strip of Island Indigo.  I added some Fast Fuse adhesive to one end, then wrapped the card stock around the tin and secured the end.  No need to create score lines…just wrap it tightly around!

Flurry of Wishes Snowflakes—I stamped the second largest snowflake from Flurry of Wishes in Island Indigo ink onto Whisper White, then punched out using the Flower Medallion Punch.  I stamped the smallest Flurry of Wishes snowflake in Pool Party, then punched that out using the Snow Flurry Punch. TIP: I cut the photopolymer stamp with the two snowflakes apart to make it easier to stamp them individually.

I used the Snow Flurry Punch again to punch a larger Silver Foil snowflake.  I popped up each layer with Dimensionals, and attached it to the belly band with more Dimensionals.  I added one Rhinestone Jewel to the center for a little sparkle!

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Flurry of Wishes sentiment in Island Indigo onto a 2-3/4" x 3/4" strip of Whisper White, then fishtailed the ends before popping it up with Dimensionals.

Two Cool—I did a second version exactly the same, but with a Pool Party belly band.

Embellished Ornaments Hershey's Nugget Tins

Next, I made a couple of tin styles in traditional Christmas colors!

Nugget tins - ornament - crumb wraps

Wraps—I found some long-retired Designer Series Paper for both of these designs.  Putting my old scraps to good use!

Nugget tins - ornament - crumb

Ornament Décor—This time, my belly band was in Cherry Cobbler. I stamped the ornament from the Embellished Ornaments stamp set in Old Olive onto Very Vanilla and die cut them with the coordinating Delicate Ornaments Thinlits.  I finished the look by adding three Rhinestone Jewels and a Crumb Cake Satin Stitched (retired) bow, adhered with a Glue Dot.

Nugget tins - ornament - white

Two Cool—My second version used different retired DSP that had a white background, so I stamped the ornament in white and added a White Taffeta (retired) bow.

Complete Supplies List—"Clear" means a rubber stamp on a clear block. "Photopolymer" is see-thru.

  1. Oh Angie! These are adorable! What great stocking stuffers! No wonder they were hot items at the craft fair – may I ask how much you charged for these little beauties?
