Hi Stamping Friends!

Welcome to Sunday Showcase!  What do Basic Black, Stars & Halloween Treats have in common?  Nothing really, but today, I'm sharing two cool projects in each of those timely themes!  Here we go!

Theme #1—Black & White & Red All Over

My first two projects feature the classic colors and trendy patterns of the Back To Black Designer Series Papers

Bday cards - debbie bittner copy

Created by Debbie Bittner.  Color Combo: Basic Black, Real Red & Whisper White.

Debbie used the bold polka dot pattern for the background, then topped it with Real Red and Whisper White layers.  The focal point is a sentiment from Perfect Pennants (wood), die-cut with the Circle Collection Framelits.  The red "a" is punched with the 1/2" Circle Punch.  Clean lines and a bold statement!  Love it!

Peggy - dahlias black red copy

Created by Peggy Tassler.  Color Combo: Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler & Whisper White.

Peggy Tassler also used the Back To Black DSP for her card background. Her focal point is the pretty flower from the Regarding Dahlias (wood) set, colored with Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities Markers.  She hand-cut the flower and layered it over a Tea Lace Paper Doily.  The Rhinestone Jewels are also colored with Blendabilities.

Also features: Beautifully Baroque Texture Impressions Folder, Cherry Cobbler Sheer Linen Ribbon, Teeny Tiny Wishes (wood), Word Window Punch.

Theme #2—Bright & Beautiful Stars

Michelle Hoover recently had a class featuring the Bright & Beautiful (wood), stamp set and I loved her projects!

Bright Beautiful 1

Created by Michelle Hoover at Hoover's Dam Stamping.  Color Combo: Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Gold & Very Vanilla.

Michelle's first project is a beautiful segueway from the black & white & red theme!  She CASEd this card from the one shown on page 25 of the Holiday Catalog and it is gorgeous!  The background is created with two patterns from the Typeset Designer Series Paper.  She embossed the two layered stars from the Bright & Beautiful (wood) set—one in gold on Very Vanilla card stock, one in white on Brushed Gold!  So elegant!

Also features: Star Framelits, Cherry Cobbler Sheer Linen RibbonCherry Cobbler Blendabilities MarkersRhinestone Jewels

Bright Beautiful 4

Created by Michelle Hoover at Hoover's Dam Stamping. Color Combo: Smoky Slate, Silver & Whisper White.

Michelle created another elegant Bright & Beautiful (wood) holiday card all decked out with silver accents!  The star is Silver embossed and the star "ring" is die-cut from Silver Foil with the Stars Framelits. The background is layered with strips of Silver Foil and Silver Glimmer Paper for lots of sparkle!

Also features: 1/8" Silver Ribbon, Lucky Stars Texture Impressions Folder, Rhinestone Jewels

Theme #3—Halloween Treats

With trick-or-treating just around the corner, here are a couple of quick & easy treat ideas!

Carmen - last bite gummies copy  Carmen - last bite gummies 2 copy

Created by Carmen DeBruce.  Color Combo: Blackberry Bliss, Tangelo Twist, Basic Black, Silver & Whisper White.

Carmen created this not-so-scary Gummy Bears treat holder using the dracula image from the Merry Everything (wood) set!  It's punched with the coordinating Note Tag Punch and sponged with Tangelo Twist In Color ink.  She punched some Silver Glimmer Paper, cut it in half and positioned it under the tag to frame the top and bottom edges.  Great tip!

You can easily cover ANY treat by simply measuring the candy's width and cutting out some card stock to wrap around it.  Score a gusset at the bottom that is the depth of the candy, staple the top with the Handheld Stapler, and add a Tangelo Twist Stitched Satin Ribbon bow.  Easy peasy!

Also features: Fall Fest Photopolymer (jack-o-lantern faces stamped on the background).

Licorice brooms copy

Created by Melissa Alexander & Bridget Ervin.  Color Combo: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Crumb Cake and Whisper White.

This was a display project from Ronda Wade's Creative Convention.  Melissa & Bridget created a super-cute witches broom licorice treat!  First, add the licorice to the 1" x 8" Cello Bag.  For the broom bristles, cut along a 12" long, 1-3/4" wide strip of Sweet Taffy DSP with the Fringe Scissors, add some Sticky Strip to the top, and wrap around the end of the treat.  Secure the paper in place by tying it with some Linen Thread, then add a cute tag!  Adorable!

Also features: Bootiful Occasions (wood), Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch
