Hi Stamping Friends!

I've been in a little bit of a creative funk lately, so I took a few days off from stamping.  Do you ever feel that way?  Since I'm working from home on something I'm passionate about, it's sometimes difficult to step away from it. My stamping stuff is always within reach, so I'm constantly finding something to do, or feeling guilty because I'm not doing it.  I knew my funk was telling me to take some time for other things in my life before I got into stamping burnout mode.  So, I forced myself to put the stamps down and back away from the blog, and it was just what was needed!  It's amazing how a few days away can help clear my mind and get a better perspective!  It's another reminder that I need to schedule time off instead of waiting until I'm in desperate need of it!  #stampaholicproblems

It's Sunday Showcase Time!  This week, I can't wait to share projects from our Too Cool Team Shoebox Swaps!  Rita Berning was our swap coordinator this month and she challenged us to come up with a card design using a sketch from Mojo Monday.  Sketches are another great way to help yourself out of a creative funk!  Rita selected Mojo Monday #397 for our sketch…

#1) Cherry On Top Birthday Card—Darla Eigenshink used the sketch to create a cheerful birthday card combining the Build A Birthday (photopolymer) stamp set with the Cherry On Top Designer Series Paper Stack and Cherry on Top Washi Tape.  The layers of the cake are made with stamps and washi tape.  The banners at the top are washi tape over card stock for a pretty tone-on-tone pattern. I love the flags at the top of the cake that are stamped and cut out by hand!  Cute!

#2) Life Is Good Card—Janet Shinn used a classy neutral palette for her sketch card.  She brought the colors from the Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack in for the background.  One circle element is textured with the Zig Zag Impressions Folder, and the other is stamped with the Project Life Remember This (photopolymer) sentiment.  I love this neutral card theme!

#3) Timeless Love Smile Card—Kathe Madsen focused on the new In Colors for her swap.  The Tip Top Taupe card base is "stamped" with new Elegant Dots Texture Impressions Folder in White Craft Ink and the center panel has the embossed texture from the same folder.  The Timeless Love (clear, wood) stamp set was used for the sentiment and for stamping the top banner.  The floral accent was also stamped from that set, colored with markers and hand-cut.  Great colors & textures!

#4) Merry Moments White Christmas Card—Carmen DeBruce designed this Christmas in July card using the Merry Moments Designer Series Paper and White Christmas (photopolymer) stamp set.  The scene was colored with Crumb Cake, Real Red and Soft Sky Stampin' Write Markers and topped with some Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  So festive!

#5) Crazy About You Thanks Card—I love the colors that Jackie Baatz selected for her swap!  She featured the flower from Crazy About You (photopolymer, clear, wood) stamp set for one of her circles.  The other circle element is the 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch punch with a sentiment from Six-Sided Sampler (clear, wood) stamp set. The banners and strip across the back are unexpected colors from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack.

#6) Sweet L'il Things Baby Card—Debbie Groulik created a sweet card with the Sweet L'il Things Designer Series Paper and a cute sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes (clear, wood). I love those hand-drawn turtles! So cute!

#7) Birthday Blossoms Just For You Card—I'm a sucker for blues, so I adore this combination of the Lost Lagoon with Mini Macaron on this card by Jodi Geers.  She used the Birthday Blossoms (clear, wood) stamp set for the flower and sentiment.  There are also lots of patterns and textures from the Decorative Dots Texture Impressions Folder and 2015-2017 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack.  Add some Mint Macaron Dotted Lace Trim and you can tell why they call her the Polka Dot Stamper!

#8) English Garden Heartfelt Sympathy Card—Peggy Tassler created this pretty sympathy card featuring the English Garden Designer Series Paper and Heartfelt Sympathy (photopolymer) stamp set. The Petite Petals (clear, wood) accents are a lovely accent!

#9) Flower Patch Blooming Birthday Card—Rita Berning used blossoms from the Flower Patch (photopolymer) and Petite Petals (clear, wood) stamp sets for her circle elements.  The large flower has three layers, two of which are hand-cut.  The flowers look fantastic on the sponged Brick Wall textured background.  We stamped the Summer Silhouettes (clear, wood) images onto the card stock before embossing the Brick Wall texture.

#10) Timeless Elegance Happy Hello Card—Like Janet, I chose an elegant, neutral theme, but mine was inspired by the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Papers.  I used three different papers for the background, circle and banner.  The other banner is embossed with the Woodgrain Texture Impressions Folder.  Like Darla, I used the versatile Tin of Cards (photopolymer) stamp set for the sentiment.
