Sunday Showcase: 12+ Fun Punch Art Ideas

Today, I'll be featuring some cute card ideas using punches!  These projects were shown at either last year's Stampin' Up! Regional in Lousiville or this year's Leadership in San Antonio.

Once again, I ask you to look past the bad lighting, the plastic card protectors, and the clothespins for some terrific punching inspiration!  Click to enlarge to see the details better.  If one of these fantastic cards is yours, let me know and I'll credit you.

Misc - leprechaun

With St. Patrick's Day only a few days away, what better way to kick off the showcase than with a punch art leprechaun!  This adorable character is made from an Ornament Punch face, Scallop Circle beard, Heart-to-Heart moustache, 1-1/4" Circle and Word Window Punch hat, Boho Blossoms flower, and Itty Bitty Circle hands, ears and nose, and Owl Punch eyes.  Paired with the Happy St. Patrick's Day individual stamp, it's perfect for an Irish greeting!

Mics - kimono girl  Mics - kimono girl 2

I'm a little less sure what punches were used for this pretty girl in a kimono.  Her body is the Extra Large Oval Punch, the feet look like part of the Modern Label Punch, and her head and hair are a combination of circles.  The flower is from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack.  I love the use of the Everyday Enchantment Designer Paper for the kimono…that looks great!

Misc - punches ice cream

It'll be summer before we know it, and this card has some tasty summer punched treats!  The ice cream cones are made with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch and Square Lattice Impressions Folder for texture.  The Cupcake Punch was used for the ice cream scoops and cherry.  The ice cream bars appear to be hand-cut, but the bite is from a Scallop Circle Punch, and the handle is the Word Window Punch.  Sweet!

Misc - punches risen butterfly

The pretty flowers on this Easter card are created using overlapping Butterfly Punches!  It looks like they are punched from Watercolor Paper painted with Rich Razzleberry Refill Inks.  Here's a post where you can learn how to make Buttferfly Pansies. The Bird Punch was used for the leaves.  What a beautiful way to decorate the He Is Risen single stamp image!

Misc - punches cross

Here is another Easter He Is Risen card, this time using circle punches of two sizes that are cleverly folded to create the shape of a cross.  The fold is called a Dahlia fold and Dawn Griffth has a great tutorial on this technique: Dahlia Folded Flower.

Unique - framelit corner (18)

Look at this amazing window scene!  The window is created with 1-1/4" Square PunchesBlushing Bride Pleated Ribbon was used to simulate curtains inside the window, and pretty Bordering on Romance flowers were used to look like a flower box outside the window.  Super cute!

Unique - lattice flowers

This He Is Risen card shows the pretty Lattice Die decorated with little Boho Blossoms and Itty Bitty Punch flowers.  The larger flower was created with the 5-Petal Punch, cut down to 4 petals, then curled around and re-attached to make a 3D flower.  With some curled petals and sponging, this flower is absolutely stunning!

Punch - mickey mouse

Sometimes simple shapes can combine for a big impact!  Three little circles and you have the Mickey Mouse ears!  I'm sure this card had something to do with a demonstrator earning the trip to Disney World last year!  What a great idea for a scrapbook page about your Disney vacation!

Punches - watermelon

If you've ever used the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch, then you know all about the little confetti you get from punching with it!  Bonus—those little remnants are in the shape of watermelon seeds!  The border along the bottom of this bag has the flowers from the same punch, so you can see where those little shapes are coming from.  How creative!

Punches - pizza

Pizza!  That's my favorite!  1" Circle Punch pepperonis.  1/2" Circle and Itty Bitty Punches combine to make olives.  Scallop Circle peppers.  And, it all sits on a Scallop Oval Die crust!  How fun!  Perfect for a pizza party invitation!

Punches - owl ideas

These are some additional ideas that were shown at the Regional using the Owl Punch

Punches - cupcake ideas

And, one more idea sheet using shapes from the Cupcake Punch!
