Sunday Showcase: Featuring Retiring Stamps

Well, the end is drawing near for our dear Retiring Stamps & Retiring Accessories!  May 31 is the final day they'll be available before they are gone for good.  I've spent the past two Sunday Showcases focused on Retiring Accessories and Retiring Christmas Items, and today we're highlighting Retired Stamp projects!

Don't forget that you can find complete details on the projects by clicking on the link below the photos.  Let's take a look…

Vintage vogue

Vintage Vogue Scrapbook

I have thoroughly enjoyed my Vintage Vogue stamp set and this scrapbook page is hands-down one of my favorites using this set.  I'm sure plenty of that has to do with the purple color combination of Rich Razzleberry, Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant layered on Crumb Cake and Soft Suede neutrals—LOVE IT!  The page also features retiring Circle Ice Rhinestone Brads and the retiring Eyelet Border Punch.

Vintage vogue brag book

I also had to show the matching brag book that can be added to the scrapbook page for extra photos.  This one really shows how much fun you can have doing a random-stamped decorative background with this set.  I'll miss you, my vintage friend.

Floral Embossed DVD Notepad Holder

Grunge Rock Embossed DVD Notepad Holder

Here's another fun project decorated with several retiring products.  Both DVD cases are stamped with images from the retiring Extreme Elements set.  Talk about a fantastic set for stamping collage elements!  It is terrific for backgrounds and interesting layers.  The second case shown is stamped with the retiring Grunge Rock and Baroque Motifs sets, too.  Love that look for teens!  Also featured: retiring Chantily Crochet Trim on project #1, and retiring Concord Crush Poly-Stitch Ribbon on project #2.

Vintage Wallpaper Inked Impressions

The gorgeous Greenhouse Gala paper retired last year, but the coordinating and retiring Friends Never Fade is the focal point of this card.  It matches the retiring Ornate Blossom single stamp, too.

Friends never fade splash

Friends Never Fade Watercolor Splash

Here's another pretty one with the Friends Never Fade set.  I used the Watercolor Splash technique to color in the flower.  Also retiring: Concord Crush card stock (sold out) and Old Olive Satin Ribbon.

Watercolor splash

Fifth Avenue Floral Watercolor Splash

The most perfect set to use for the Watercolor Splash technique is the retiring Fifth Avenue Floral set.  The large spaces in this rose line image really shows off the beautiful watercolor blends.  Paired with the Manhattan Flowers Impressions Folder, you can't miss!

White washed

Fifth Avenue Floral White Washed Flowers

Here's another retiring Fifth Avenue Floral beauty created with a White Washing technique.  The sentiment comes from the retiring Upsy Daisy set.

Gem note cards

You're A Gem Designer Frames Note Cards

I'm very sad about the retirement of You're A Gem.  I love the cute little sayings that are unique and fun.  The images combine nicely with the retiring Clearly For You stamps, which I used in the background.

Vintage vogue masked flowers

Vintage Vogue Masked Flowers

I tried the Masking Technique on this retiring Vintage Vogue card.  If you look closely, you'll see that I added Paper Piercing to the corners and bottom edge.  The current Paper Piercer and coordinating Mat Pack with Piercing Template are retiring, but they are being replaced by some tools that I know you'll love even more!

Flower fest burnish

Flower Fest Burnished Flowers

Ahhh, Flower Fest!  I feel like I barely knew thee.  For some reason, I'm having lots of trouble letting go of this one.  I didn't realize that I would fall so hard for the line-drawn images, but alas, I'm still captured under their spell (see yesterday's post).  I love this look of burnished color inside the color embossed blooms.  So pretty.  The pretty matching border is created with the retiring Triple Layer Blossom Bouquet Punch.  The sentiment is from the retiring Sincere Salutations*sniff*

Flower fest white 1

White Embossed Flower Fest

My absolute favorite technique with the retiring Flower Fest set is White Embossing and popping up the centers for dimension.  All the Hostess Exclusive items will be retiring, including the Happiest Birthday Wishes set and Cheerful Treat Designer Series Paper that I used on this project.  Also retiring: the awesome Scallop Circles #2 Die and Concord Crush Poly-Stitch Ribbon.

Triangle box  Falling leaves

Falling Leaves Triangle Boxes

Cute little leaves with cute little patterns!  The retiring Falling Leaves set is more whimsical than your typical autumn leaves set which makes it perfect for a light-hearted greeting.  Also retiring: Pumpkin Pie 1/4" Grosgrain (all colors are going!) from project #1, and Circle Fire Rhinestone Brads from project #2.

Haunts

House of Haunts Sunset

Bwahaha! The retiring House of Haunts is so spooky looking, especially silhouetted against this brayered ink sunset background.  Even the retiring Pinking Hearts Punch border looks creepy, and not so Valentine-y, when it's in Basic Black.  EEeerie!

Bear brag book

Beary Best Brag Book

We created this watercolored cute brag book as a birthday party activity for some third-graders…the perfect party entertainment!  It features the retiring Beary Best Friends and Beary Nice Wishes stamps, plus retiring Circle Fire Rhinestone Brads.
