It's Sunday Showcase time, and today I'm giving you a close-up of the adorable projects from my Santa Buckle Stocking Stuffer Class Kit!
There are only Two Cool Ways to earn this FREE class kit! Either place a $50 minimum order at my Online Store using the Hostess Code ZMHEV3BW, or purchase a Starter Kit before the end of Online Extravaganza, December 2, 2014.
The kit includes all the pre-cut parts & pieces to create all 5 Santa Buckle projects shown above. I have even thrown in some Hershey's Kisses and gum to fill up two of your treat holders, so they are ready to give!
CASEd from Jennifer Blomquist at Northwest Stamper.
#1) Santa Buckle Curvy Keepsakes Box—I have seen so many cute ways to dress up this Curvy Keepsakes box, but this one might be my favorite (OK, maybe tied with the Pumpkin)! I die-cut the two Cherry Cobbler sides from the Curvy Keepsakes Framelits, then overlapped and adhered the bottoms with Fast Fuse Adhesive.
Santa Suit Details—I added a 3/4" strip of Basic Black across the front, trimmed to size after adhering with SNAIL. A Petite Curly Label punched shape from Silver Glimmer Paper creates the buckle. I popped that up with Dimensionals, then added a 3/4" square piece of Basic Black over the top with Glue Dots.
The "buttons" are punched with the circles from the Owl Builder Punch. I tied the top with a 1/8" Silver Ribbon bow.
CASEd from LeeAnn Greff at Flowerbug's Inkspot.
#2 Santa Buckle Gift Card Holder—I dressed up a simple Envelope Punch Board gift card holder with a Santa Buckle belly band! Starting with a 5" x 5" piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock, simply score and punch it according to the measurements on the Envelope Punch Board for the "gift card" size envelope.
Buckle Up—The belt is 3/4" wide by 8" long. It wraps loosely around the gift card envelope and the ends are adhered together with Fast Fuse Adhesive. Pop up a Silver Glimmer Paper Curly Label punched shape over the front and add a 3/4" square of Basic Black to the top with Glue Dots.
Gift Card Inside—The inside is lined with a 3" x 2-1/4" piece of Whisper White, then stamped with a festive sentiment from the retired Good Greetings set.
CASEd from Stacey at Stacy's Creative Corner.
#3 Santa Buckle Hershey's Kisses Fry Box—I used the Fry Box Bigz Die to cut out the box from a half sheet of Cherry Cobbler card stock. I also positioned a 1-1/2" wide strip of Whisper White over the die where the front of the box was being cut, and a 3/4" wide strip of Basic Black over the die where the belt would be, and ran those through the Big Shot. Doing so gave those elements the perfect cut and score lines to decorate the box front. The white strip is run through a second time using the Large Scallop Edgelits to give it a pretty decorative border along the collar.
Then it's simply a matter of adhering the box sides with Fast Fuse Adhesive, and adhering the collar and belt with SNAIL. I popped up a Petite Curly Label Silver Glimmer Paper buckle over the top, and added a 3/4" square piece of Basic Black with Glue Dots.
Bag o' Kisses—The kit includes a small cello bag (retired) filled with Hershey's Kisses and 1/8" Silver Ribbon to tie the package closed. This one is ready to give!
Inspired by Jennifer Picard at A New Ink On Life.
#4 Santa Suit Gum Holder—Decorate a single pack of gum and it turns into an adorable stocking stuffer! The funny thing about this project…I created my sample from an old pack of Trident gum that I had leftover from a Valentine's gum project I created last year. Then, when I went to purchase the gum for the class a couple of days ago, I discovered that all of the Trident gum packaging had changed! And, none of the other types of gum had packaging would work with this size either. Well, shoot!
We're still going to have a gum holder that looks like this, but I need to go back to the drawing board to re-work the measurements for this project.
Sliding Holder—I added some Santa suit trim down the center of the gum holder with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. The belt is the same 3/4" wide Basic Black strip wrapped around the holder without score lines. Like most of the other projects, the Petite Curly Label Silver Glimmer Paper buckle is popped up with Dimensionals and topped with a 3/4" square Basic Black piece adhered with Glue Dots.
CASEd someone, but I can't remember who. Is it you?
#5 Santa Triangle Box—The final project from the Santa Buckle Class Kit features a triangle box that will hold lots of treats or a small gift. It would also make a sweet Santa ornament to hang from the tree!
Triangle Box Basics—Creating the basic box is much less complex than it may appear. I used a half sheet of Cherry Cobbler card stock cut to 4-1/4" x 11". First, I scored the paper in half at the 5-1/2" mark. then I marked the 4-1/4" ends at the center 2-1/8" points. Using my Simply Scored Tool, I created diagonal score lines that ran from the center points on the 4-1/4" sides to the center points of the 11" sides. Fold on the score lines to make the box.
To hold it closed, punch holes in the sides with a 1/8" hand-held punch, then thread some 1/8" Silver Ribbon through the holes and tie it with a bow.
Box Décor—Once the box is assembled, add a 3/4" strip of Basic Black across the lower part to represent the belt. Add a Petite Curly Label Silver Glimmer Paper shape and a 3/4" square black piece on top. The Basic Black buttons are 1/4" Circle Punches this time.
Santa Face—Use the following punches to create the Santa face, and assemble them in the order listed:
- Extra-Large Oval—Whisper White hat trim.
- Large Oval—Blushing Bride face.
- Sweetheart Punch—Whisper White for beard.
- Owl Builder Punch "Eyes"—Cherry Cobbler for mouth.
- Bird Builder Punch "Wings"—2 Whisper White for mustache. Pop with Dimensionals.
- Owl Builder Punch "Eyes"—Basic Black for eyes.
- 1/2" Circle Punch—Blushing Bride nose. Pop with Dimensionals.
- Boho Blossom Punch—Silver Glimmer Paper for ball on the hat. Pop with Dimensionals.
The face is adhered directly to the box with either SNAIL or Dimensionals. The hat is actually the top of the box! How darling!
