Ahhhh, I feel much better now that I've had some good sleep and have enjoyed a mini-marathon of my newest guilty-pleasure TV show…Castle.
Do you watch that show? He really is ruggly handsome, isn't he?! I accidently happened upon it and now I can't get enough!
I'm SO hooked on the "Caskett" that I nearly forgot that it's time for the "Best of" Contest for the month! Be sure to post your guess at my Too Cool Stamping Facebook Page.
OK—back to business!

Sunday Showcase—Favorite Convention Swaps
I swapped about 48 cards at Convention. True to my procrastination form, I ended up taking supplies with me to Utah to create the Best of Shelli stacked presents card while I visited my family. I absolutely LOVE that card design, and I created them in all four In Colors!
Here are some of my favorite swaps I received in return, in no particular order. Each of these cards had something a little fun and unexpected on them…
Created by Beverly Penney. Color combo: Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, Smoky Slate and Very Vanilla.
I love Beverly's choice of colors on this card featuring the Six-Sided Sampler set (wood). My eyes were immediately drawn to the sparkly gray hexagon…
I didn't even recognize at first that it was Dazzling Diamonds! It takes on a very cool silvery effect against the Smoky Slate color.
Also features: Honeycomb Texture Impressions Folder, Hexagon Punch, Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin Ribbon, and Fabulous Phrases stamps set (wood).
Created by Martha Swift. Color combo: Baked Brown Sugar, Early Espresso, Crisp Cantaloupe and Whisper White.
OK, this card just cracks me up! The main image, embossed in Early Espresso Powder, is from the Giggle Greetings set (wood), "Birthdays are like hairballs…the more you have the more you want to gag." I suppose Martha added the "eat cake" sentiment from Sketched Birthday (wood), as a reminder that cake is much better to ingest! LOL!
I love the way she colored spots on the cat with Baked Brown Sugar ink to make it a calico. But THE BEST and most unexpected part of this card is the actual hairball…
…made with a little bunch of Linen Thread!!! Haha! Love it!
Also features: Bitty Banners Framelits, Deco Labels Framelits, Chevron Texture Impressions Folder, Houndstooth Texture Impressions Folder, and Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon.
Created by Tamzin Cochrane. Color combo: Early Espresso, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Very Vanilla.
I was really struck by the beautiful, distressed colors and textures on this simple card. The Soho Subway Designer Series Paper looks amazing against the lightly sanded Early Espresso Core'dinations card stock.
The Chalk Talk (wood) greeting even has a nice distressed font that matches perfectly. And, Tamzin used the textured side of the Crisp Cantaloupe Core'dinations card stock for the Decorative Label layer and Small Heart punched accent, too. I may have to CASE this one for a class!
Also features: Pearl Jewels.
Did you make this swap? Let me know. Color combo: Basic Gray, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry and Whisper White.
Isn't this one gorgeous?! The vase is die-cut from the Eastern Elegance DSP with the Holiday Ornaments Framelits (yes, they are still available on the Holiday Carryover List!)
I love the layers of flowers created with the Backyard Basics Bundle (wood)! The coordinating Backyard Basics stamps and framelits make it easy to cut out these blooms! Layering two images is even better!
Also features: Label Love Bundle (wood). Labels Collection Framelits and Whisper White Organza Ribbon.
Did you create this? Let me know. Color combo: Early Espresso, Raspberry Ripple, Crumb Cake and Lucky Limeade.
I saw so many cute Perfect Blend (wood) cards at Convention that I know I'll have to get that set. This one has lots of great coffee details! I love the coffee cup rings as part of the background!
But, my favorite is the hint of lipstick on the coffee cup lid! Fantastic!
Also features: Tape It stamp set (wood), 1-1/4" Scallop Circle Punch, and Houndstooth Texture Impressions Folder.
