Sunday Showcase—Excellent Easter Project Ideas

Hi Stamping Friends!

It's Sunday Showcase time!  I don't tend to make many Easter projects, but there are so many cute ideas out there!  Since the holiday is only a week away, I thought you might like to see some of my favorite project ideas for the occasion…

Created by Michelle Martin at MiniStamper.

This adorable basket is made with the Fancy Favor Die and holds all kinds of Easter treats!  The bunny's face is three-dimensional courtesy of a Sweet Treat Cup, allowing you to peek in at the goodies inside.  Also features the following punches to create the bunny: Large Oval Punch (feet and ears), Oval Scallop Punch (ears), 1" Circle Punch (face), and Owl Punch (eyes, nose and feet pads).

Created by Tanya Bell at Stampin' T!

Speaking of adorable, who can resist these cute bunny butts?  The Milk Carton Die creates the perfect sized holder for the large Cadbury eggs. Punch out an Extra Large Oval Punch window in the front, then decorate with some grass.  The bunny is made with a 1" Circle Punch (body), 3/4" Circle Punch (head), and Itty Bitty Punch Pack (tail) with an Bitty Button and Rhinestone Jewel accent.  The ears look like they were punched with the now retired 5-Petal Punch, but I bet you could substitute the Blossom Petals Punch

What could be quicker and cuter than this Easter Peeps card?  Punch out three eggs with the Extra Large Oval Punch, crack them open, and add some peeps punched from the Bird Punch.  Also features: Perfect Polka Dot Texture Impressions Folder, Scallop Edge Border Punch, Daffodil Delight 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon and In Color Designer Paper Stack.

Sour cream carrots

Awww…how sweet!  These sour cream container carrots are perfect for holding three mini Cadbury Eggs.  Jo started with a 4-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper.  She has a fantastic video showing exactly how to make them at the link above.  Also features: 1-3/4" Scallop Circle, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Itty Bitty Punch Pack, Teeny Tiny Wishes stamps, and Crimper.

Spring egg card

Our new Ovals Collections Framelits are perfect for creating an Easter Egg card.  Simply cut your folded card base with part of the fold inside the cutting edge of the die.  If you look closely, you'll see that this one is folded at the top.  Although this one is decorated with the now retired Sycamore Street paper from Sale-A-Bration, you could use any patterned paper.  The flower is from the Pop-Up Posies Designer Kit.  Also features: Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Modern Label Punch and Everybunny stamp set.

Here's another fun idea using the Ovals Collection Framelits to make an easel card.  The cross is strategically cut from a Lattice Die die-cut and it's adorned with leaves from the Bird Punch and a sweet Crepe Filter Paper flower.  Also features: 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Stampin' Spritzer to color the flower, Designer Frames Texture Impressions Folder, Extra Large Oval Punch and Pink Pirouette 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon.

(You knew I had to get some butterflies in here!) It's not a very good photo, but I loved the look of this pretty Spring Easter card.  The Swallowtail image is stamped in the background…I almost missed it!  Then it's layered with images from the gorgeous Secret Garden set.  So soft and pretty!  Also features: Easter Blessings stamp, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Bitty Butterfly Punch, and Pearl Jewels.

I couldn't end this Showcase without linking to some of my favorite projects that I've created, too!  They are still great ideas!

Scallop trim cross

This is an oldie, but goodie, that I created a couple years ago featuring a Scallop Trim Border Punch cross.  It's an elegant effect that can be used for Easter, Confirmations, Communions, sympathy and more. Check out my complete, step-by-step pictorial: Scallop Trim Punched Cross.

Easter bonnet 1
Easter bonnet 2

This might be my favorite Easter project of all-time!  It's a Stampin' Up! embellishment container that's altered to look like a pretty Easter bonnet.  It's a handy and lovely project!  And, now they we have Flower Trim, you can still have pretty flowers to decorate it!  See all the details on how to make it: Easter Bonnet Trinket Holder.

Here are two Lattice Cross Cards that I created for First Communions, but they would be fantastic for Easter, too.  See details on the Pool Party Lattice Cross, or Vintage Roses Lattice Cross cards.

Hope these pretty projects inspire you to create some of your own Easter treats and cards!

Enjoy your day!
