Hi Stamping Friends!
I've seen some pretty fantastic butterfly cards recently, many including the Bitty Butterfly Punch and huge Swallowtail stamp from the Spring Catalog! Combine those two new tools with all of the awesome butterfly tools Stampin' Up! already carries, and you can make an amazing kaleidoscope of fluttering creations!
Butterflies are REALLY popular right now! In fact, here's some trivia according to Stampin' Up!:
- What is the most popular stamp set in this year's Annual Catalog? Papillon Potpouri
- What is the most popular die-cutting tool? Beautiful Wings Embosslit
Butterflies In March!
I decided that, as a way to usher in Spring and highlight these amazing projects, "butterflies" are going to be my theme for March. Oh, I'll have other projects, too, but you'll definitely see lots of butterflies all month long!
I'm kicking off my Month of Butterflies with a Sunday Showcase full of some fabulous butterfly projects from my stamping friends! Here we go!
Created by Carmen DeBruce, Too Cool Demo Team.
So cute! Carmen used the very popular Papillon Potpouri set, stamping the butterflies in Baja Breeze, Perfect Plum and Gumball Green, then punching them out with the coordinating Elegant Butterfly Punch. Also features: Creative Elements stamp set, Create A Cupcake sentiment, Scallop Square Punch, Word Window Punch, Petals-A-Plenty Texture Impressions Folder, and Rhinestone Jewels.
Created by Darla Eigenschink, Too Cool Demo Team.
Do you recognize this card? Darla CASEd a card from page 13 of the Spring Catalog! She used Bitty Butterfly Punch to add some More Amore Designer Series Paper butterflies and Hearts A Flutter stamped butterflies to this charming card!
She also stamped with the butterfly in the Sale-A-Bration Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set (129654 c, 129651 w), which also coordinates with the Bitty Butterfly Punch! I love that she actually sewed the Paper Doily onto the card front. Also features: Sweet Essentials sentiment, and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit.
Leadership swap from Christy Kimball.
Delightful! Christy also used the butterflies from the Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set (129654 c, 129651 w) for her cute card, along with the two more Sale-A-Bration items: Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper (127540) and Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack (130812). Also features: Perfect Polka Dot Texture Impressions Folder, Bitty Butterfly Punch, 3" Circle Die, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, and Rhinestone Jewels.
Created by Michelle Hoover, Hoover's Dam Stamping.
Prettiness! I love so many things about this Bloomin' Marvelous card—the colors, the textures, and of course the butterflies! Michelle CASEd a card from Dawn Olchefske at DOStamping, who had hers designed as a window card without the background Honeycomb texture. Also features: Stampin' Sanding System, Primrose Petals Core'dinations Card Stock, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Elegant Butterfly Punch, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Natural Trim Ribbon, and Pearl Jewels.
Wow Techniques Sneak Peek: I love this card so much that I was already planning on doing a similar version for my Wow Techniques Class coming up this Friday, March 8. Contact me if you'd like to reserve a spot!
Created by Peggy Tassler, Wow Techniques Stamp Club member.
How stunning! Peggy used an elegant neutral palette of Whisper White and Sahara Sand for this beautiful card! The focal point is created by punching out a Elegant Butterfly Punch from Sahara Sand card stock and layering it with another punch out of Vellum card stock. I think she drew in the antenae with a Sahara Sand Marker. Also features: Just Believe sentiment, Top Note Die, Designer Frames Texture Impressions Folders, and Pearl Jewels.
Leadership Swap from Kathy Howes.
Oohh, shimmery! Here's another awesome CASE from the Spring Catalog, this time from page 19. Kathy embossed the Swallowtail stamp in Pool Party Embossing Powder, then sponged on Champagne Shimmer Mist Paint with a Sponge Dauber over the butterfly's wings! Also features: Lacy & Lovely sentiment.
