One of The Sweetest Cupcake Card
Rita Berning created this Sweet Cupcake card with lots of fun layers & textures for our team shoebox swap.
Background Basics—To begin the background, Rita embossed a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Early Espresso card stock with the Large Polka Dot Texture Imrpessions Folder. Next, she stamped the Playful Backgrounds bubbles image in Watermelon Wonder all over a 1-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Watermelon Wonder card stock and adhered it to the embossed piece. She also wrapped some Tip Top Taupe Striped Ribbon around the layer and adhered the ends to the backside with SNAIL.
The layers were matted onto a 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ piece of Watermelon Wonder, then adhered to a Crumb Cake card base.
Cupcake & Icing—The three-step cupcake image was stamped in Crumb Cake ink for the largest image, again in Crumb Cake for the middle image, and in Early Espresso for the final, detailed shading image. The stamps are numbered, but I stamp them in the reverse order from #3 to #1. I just think it’s easier to line them up in that order.
The icing was stamped with Blushing Bride for the most solid image #3, Flirty Flamingo for the middle image and Watermelon Wonder for the shaded image #1. Both shapes were die-cut with the coordinating Cupcake Cutouts Framelits and adhered to a 3″ x 2-3/4″ piece of Whisper White. A little Wink of Stella Clear on the icing makes it look even more tasty!
Bundle It & Save—Purchase the Sweet Cupcake stamp set and Cupcake Cutouts Framelits together in a bundle to save 10% off the cost of purchasing them separately.
Sweet Sentiment & Layers—Because the stamp set is photopolymer, the sentiment is flexible and easy to curve when placing on the acrylic block. That’s how Rita got the curved Watermelon Wonder greeting above the cupcake. That layer is matted on a 3-1/4″ x 3″ piece of Watermelon Wonder and 3-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ piece of Crumb Cake before being popped up with Dimensionals.
The top greeting is also stamped in Watermelon Wonder onto a 1-3/4″ x 3/4″ piece of Whisper White, then matted on a 2″ x 1″ piece of Watermelon Wonder, and a 2-1/4″ x 1-1/4″ piece of Crumb Cake, before again being popped up.
Complete Supplies List—”Clear” means a rubber stamp on a clear block. “Photopolymer” is see-thru.

Background Basics—This second Sweet Cupcake card was created by Susan Best. Her background begins with a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Flirty Flamingo adhered to a Whisper White card base. Next, she adhered a 4-3/8″ x 3-1/8″ piece of striped Blushing Bride Designer Series Paper from the Subtles DSP Stack onto a 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ mat of Whisper White and added that to the card front.
Sentiment Banner—The 5-1/8″ x 1-1/4″ piece of Whisper White was fishtailed for the banner foundation. It was stamped with the Sweet Cupcake greeting in Flirty Flamingo ink. She used the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits to die-cut the “wish” from Flirty Flamingo card stock, then adhered it to the banner with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen.
Sweet Cupcake—The cupcake icing color going backward from most solid image #3 to least solid #1: Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride & Flirty Flamingo. The cake color in the backward order is: #3 Crumb Cake stamped off, #2 Crumb Cake and #1 Tip Top Taupe. Both pieces are die-cut with the Cupcake Cutouts. The icing is popped up with Dimensionals and one Rhinestone Jewels was added for some sparkle. So soft and pretty!
