Hi Stamping Friends!

My Too Cool Team had a shoebox swap on Monday night and today I'm sharing the card that I brought for them to create. It's a super-sweet card using the new 3-step set called Sweet Cupcake, along with it's coordinating dies, the Cupcake Cutout Framelits. What a fun set that is perfect for anyone's birthday, no matter the gender, no matter the age! Check it out!

Sweet Shimmery Cupcake Birthday Cards

What do you think about the realistic 3-step images that Stampin' Up! has been creating lately? I wasn't sure if I liked the look, but I am loving it with this cupcake! That frosting looks so yummy! It makes me want to try all kinds of color combinations! It especially looks fabulous with the Wink of Stella clear shimmer—an absolute MUST!

Background Basics—I started with a 2" x 5-1/4" piece of the Crumb Cake striped paper from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack. I punched the end with the Banner Triple Punch, then adhered it to a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Crumb Cake card stock, and adhered it to the Crumb Cake card base.

Curly Swirly Accent—I die-cut the cute curly accent with the Cupcake Cutout Framelits from Crumb Cake card stock, then adhered it to the card front with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen.

Scallop Square—I die-cut the Whisper White 3" scallop square focal point foundation using the Layering Squares Framelits. After stamping on some Sweet Cupcake dots, positioned over the top of where the frosting will eventually go, I adhered the layer onto a 3-1/8" square mat and popped up the layer with Dimensionals.

Sweet Cupcake—The Sweet Cupcake stamp set features three steps of images that combine to create the realistic look of both the cupcake and the frosting. The images are numbered on the stamp set image sheet, but I've found that I like stamping them in reverse—from #3 to #1. I stamped the #3 most solid cupcake image in Crumb Cake onto Whisper White, then stamped the #2 image in Crumb Cake over the top. The final #1 image was inked in Soft Suede, then stamped off before being stamped on top.

TIP: These stamps are transparent photopolymer, so it's easy to line up each of the stamped layers. For best results. I recommend standing up so you can look straight down over the image as you're stamping. That will give you the best positioning.

I die-cut the cupcake with the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits, then adhered it to the card with SNAIL adhesive.

Sweet Frosting—I stamped the frosting images in reverse, too. I stamped the #3 most solid frosting image in Pool Party onto Whisper White, then stamped the #2 image in Pool Party over the top. The final #1 image was inked in Bermuda Bay, then stamped off before being stamped on top. I die-cut the frosting, then popped it up with Dimensionals.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Sweet Cupcake greeting in Bermuda Bay onto Whisper White, then punched it out with the Classic Label Punch and popped it up with Dimensionals under the cupcake.
