Sweet Songbirds Nest & Sign Cards
These two LIVE Class cards were inspired by ones created by my friend Peggy Tassler. I love making sweet little scenes for these adorable birds!
Background Basics—I started by adhering a 4" x 3" piece of Sun Prints Designer Series Paper to the top of a Pacific Point card base. I added a 4" x 2-1/4" piece of Night of Navy cardstock, that was embossed with the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder, to the bottom of the card front. 
Sweet Scene—I die cut a larger Basic White Stitched Rectangles label and stamped two Sweet Songbirds branches across it in Early Espresso. TIP: Make sure to leave room for the leaves.
Next I stamped the leaves with Parakeet Party ink. TIP: If you just want to add a couple of leaves, try cleaning your stamp really well, then only inking a couple of the leaves on the edge of the ink pad.
I added flowers in Tahitian Tide ink and the little sign strings in Early Espresso ink, then I adhered the label to the card front.
Neat Nest & Sign—I stamped the Sweet Songbirds nest image in Early Espresso ink onto Sahara Sand cardstock and cut it out. I stamped the sign image in Sahara Sand ink onto Sahara Sand cardstock, then stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso over the top. It's also hand-cut and adhered with SEAL adhesive to the card front.
Sweet Songbird—I stamped the larger bird and wing in Pacific Point ink onto Basic White and punched them out with the Songbird Builder Punch. I attached the wing with a Glue Dot. I stamped the eyes in Early Espresso onto the bird, then adhere it inside the next, popping it all up with Dimensionals. I finished by stamping the beak in Pumpkin Pie onto Basic White, punching and adhering with Liquid Multipurpose Glue.
Finishing Touches—I finished by adding six of the new Iridescent Pearl Jewels around the flowers and leaves. Love this little detail!
Inside the Card—I stamped the rest of the sentiment on the inside with Early Espresso ink onto a 4" x 5-1/4" Basic White cardstock.
Two Cool—This second card is the one from the Class Kit. It starts with a Pretty Prints DSP and Rich Razzleberry embossed background on a Blackberry Bliss card base.
Sweet Scene—I stamped the branch again in Early Espresso and the leaves in Pear Pizzazz ink this time. The flowers are in Flirty Flamingo. I added the pearls to the flower centers on this one.
Sweet Songbird—This time the bird is stamped in Melon Mambo ink with a Pumpkin Pie beak. Notice the eyes are different and have either a sleepy or content look. I love how you can change the expression of the birds by just changing their eyes and wing positioning. So sweet!
