Sweet Symmetry Triangular Fun Fold Cards
Here's a cool, non-traditional fold that is so much fun! I CASEd this card from a swap card that I received from BJ Peters. I've shared her card as the "two cool" version below!
Card Base—Like most cards, this one features a half-sheet of 8-1/2" x 11" cardstock, except it's cut on the diagonal! I started by scoring the full sheet at the 4-1/4" mark on the short side and at the 5-1/2" on the long side. Then, I cut the whole piece corner-to-corner, from the top left to the bottom right.
Card Front Background—This fun fold creates a card front comprised of two triangular flaps. Adding layers is just as simple as cutting the card base! For the top panel, I started with a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock and cut it diagonally from the top right to the bottom left. The Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper begins with a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece that's cut diagonally the same way; top right to bottom left. The best part is that you'll have two more layers left over to do another card…Two Cool!
The bottom flap is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Night of Navy, trimmed diagonally from top right to bottom left and embossed with the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder. All layers are mounted onto the card flaps with SEAL Adhesive.
Sweet Blooms Focal Point—I stamped an In Symmetry sentiment in Night of Navy ink onto a 3-5/8" x 2-1/2" piece of Basic White for better positioning of the flowers. Next, I stamped the In Symmetry large flower in Flirty Flamingo and the smaller tulip in Bumblebee ink. I mounted the flower stems onto my block with a slight curve, then stamped them with Just Jade ink. I finished by adding the large and smaller pairs of leaves in Just Jade.
I layered it onto a Flirty Flamingo die-cut created with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies, then mounted the layers onto the bottom card flap with Dimensionals. Be sure to watch the video for tip on how to position your Dimensionals without accidentally sticking the card shut!
Don't forget to adorn your blooms with a Rhinestone Jewel! Sparkly!
Inside The Card—I decorated the 5-1/4" x 4" Basic White inside piece to match my card front.
Two Cool—This is the swap card that BJ Peters created that inspired my class card. I love it! Her's begins with a Basic Black card base, decorated with a a piece of DSP from the Pattern Party Host-Exclusive Designer Serie Paper, then layered onto Poppy Parade.
Flower Duo—BJ stamped her sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then added In Symmetry tulips in Poppy Parade with stems and leaves in Granny Apple Green. So sweet!
