Today I wanted to give you a closeup of one of the 6 different cards from my August Stamp-of-the-Month Class Kit featuring the very versatile Swirly Bird stamp set! I am so excited about this class and apparently many of you are, too! So far, it’s been one of my most popular classes! Don’t miss it!

Swirly Bird Trio of Rose Swirls Cards
For the first card from my Swirly Bird class, I chose to create some beautiful colored blooms with white die-cut swirls over the top to give the look of elegant roses! So, so pretty! You can select any colors you choose for the flowers! I tried the card design in both warm and cool color combinations.
Background Basics—This card begins with a neutral Soft Suede card base and a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Whisper White as the background. I stamped diagonally over the background with the Swirly Bird splatter image in Crumb Cake ink, stamped off once each time for a lighter shade of Crumb Cake.
Beautiful Blooms—Next, I stamped a large swirl in Peekaboo Peach, another large solid swirl in Sweet Sugarplum, and a smaller solid circle in Flirty Flamingo onto the background. I stamped them in a triangular arrangement, leaving a little space for where I thought I would add the greeting later. TIP: I like to use a Piercing Mat under my stamping surface to ensure these solid stamps transfer cleanly & completely.
Lovely Leaves—I stamped some Swirly Bird leaves around the swirls in Pear Pizzazz ink to fill in some of the white spaces around each flower.
Delightful Die-Cuts—To finish the blooms, I die-cut coordinating sizes of Whisper White swirl die-cuts using the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits and adhered them over the colorful shapes with a Fine-Tip Glue Pen.

Sweet Sentiment—No greetings come in the Swirly Bird stamp set, so I designed my class cards to have plenty of room to use whatever sentiments you may have on hand. I love the look of the Rose Wonder greetings with these cards, so I stamped the Rose Wonder birthday sentiment in Soft Suede on the 2-1/2″ x 1″ piece of Whisper White.
Copper Loops—After fishtailing the end of the sentiment banner, I covered the back in SNAIL adhesive, then added some loops of Copper Metallic Thread to the back before popping it up with Dimensionals onto the card front.
Dew Drops—I added a few White Perfect Accents around the blooms to give the look of dew drops on the card. I love these simple, yet stunning accents! Each kit comes with a full package of White Perfect Accents, so you can add as many as you like!
Two Cool—For my second version, I tried out some cool-tone colors!
These blooms were made with Mint Macaron, Pool Party & Wisteria Wonder. Love, love, love this combo!
Sweet Sentiment—The stamp set that comes in the Watercolor Wishes kit also has tons of beautiful, all-occasion greetings! I used that set for the “hello” on this card.
