Swirly Waves Affectionately Yours Washi Tape Card

Kathe Madsen recently shared this fun card featuring washi tape peeking out between the waves of a Swirly Scribbles die-cut.  I love this washi tape technique, and it looks extra-cool under those waves!

Background Washi—Kathe started by cutting two 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White layers.  On the first layer, she covered the left half of the card stock with all the patterns from teh Affectionately Yours Washi Tape.  She put the copper dotted one in the center because of the shine!

On the second layer, she die-cut the left side with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits to make the waves.  Using SNAIL and the Fine-Tip Glue Pen, she reassembled the second waves layer directly over the top of the washi tape layer, allowing the tape to show.  Both layers are adhered to a Watermelon Wonder card base.

Sweet Sentiment—Kathe stamped the greeting from the Banners For You set in Watermelon Wonder ink onto Whisper White card stock.  It's die cut using the coordinating Bunch of Banners Framelits.  She also die cut a second banner from Cucumber Crush card stock, snipped it in half and re-positioned it to frame the sides of the banner before popping it up with Dimensionals.

Swirly Waves & Sunshine Wishes Card

Kathe created a second version ( two cool!) with the Swirly Scribbles waves going horizontally, different washi tapes and colored card stock!  I love the results!

Background Basics—This time Kathy die cut the actual Pool Party card base with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits.  Underneath, she added a 5-1/2" x 3" piece of Whisper White card stock covered with Playful Palette Washi Tape and retired Cherry On Top Washi Tape.

Die-Cut Décor & Sentiment—Kathe decorated the front of the card with die-cuts from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.  Both the heart and word are cut from Calypso Coral card stock and adhered with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen.  The stamped words are from the coordinating Sunshine Sayings stamp set, stamped in Emerald Envy ink.

Bundle It & Save!—Purchase the Sunshine Sayings stamp set and the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits together in a bundle to save 10%.

Complete Supplies List—"Clear" means a rubber stamp on a clear block. "Photopolymer" is see-thru.
