Tag Buffet Paper-Pieced Stocking Cards

I knew when I was designing this class that I just had to combine the stocking image with the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper using the cool Paper Piecing technique! It goes perfectly with Christmas stockings and it's super-easy to get this look!

Background Basics—First, I embossed a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. I added a 4" x 2" piece of Plaid Tidings DSP along the bottom, along with a 4" x 1/2" Mossy Meadow strip at the top of the DSP, then mounted all the layers onto a Cherry Cobbler card base.

Terrific Tag—For the focal point, I punched the top of a 2" x 4-1/2" piece of Whisper White with the Delightful Tag Topper Punch. I stamped the bottom of the tag with a Tag Buffet sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink.

Paper-Pieced Stocking—I stamped the Tag Buffet stocking image onto the tag with Memento Tuxedo Ink and colored in the cuff, heel and toe sections with a combination of Real Red and Cherry Cobbler Blends Markers. Next, I stamped the stocking image onto another matching pattern from the Plaid Tidings DSP, trimmed out the middle of the stocking and adhered it onto the original stamped image. Oh, how cool!

I mounted the tag onto the card front with Dimensionals

Finishing Touches—I stamped the holly leaf and berries images in Memento Black onto scrap Whisper White and colored them with Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow Blends Markers. They are hand-cut and attached with Glue Dots. I tied a Real Red Sheer Ribbon bow and attached it to the top of the tag with a Glue Dot. I also added a couple of Red Rhinestone jewels next to the tag on the Mossy Meadow strip.

Two Cool—I'm in love with color combination on my second version! This time, the embossed background is in Sahara Sand, decorated with a Pretty Peacock Plaid Tidings pattern and a classy Basic Black accent strip. The layers are mounted onto a Pretty Peacock card base.

Terrific Tag—The tag sentiment is stamped with Memento Black ink and I squared up the positioning of the tag onto the card front.

Sweet Stocking—The stocking is colored with Pretty Peacock Blends in the middle on this tag. I paper-pieced with the same DSP as the background on this one, this time cutting the cuff, heel and toe. TIP: You can alternate using the middle of the stocking with the cuff/heel/toe parts to make your stamped DSP go further!

Finishing Touches—The holly is colored in Shaded Spruce here, and I decorated with a Pretty Peacock/Old Olive Reversible Ribbon bow and Holiday Rhinestones accents.
