Texture Chic 3-Panel Scene Card
If you have some Designer Series Paper that features a scene, or simply a large pattern that you, then the 3-Panel Scene card is the perfect way to showcase that paper! It's a modified Z-fold card that opens up to reveal the entire scene. I've also called this card a Tryptic card. Too Cool!
Card Basics—I started with a 6" x 5-1/4" piece of Texture Chic DSP. First, I trimmed the paper along the 6" size at the 2-3/4" mark, then with the remaining piece, I trimmed along the 3-1/4" side at the 1-1/8" mark. You should end up with three piece measuring 2-3/4" x 5-1/4" (A), 1-1/8" x 5-1/4" (B) and 2-1/8" x 5-1/4" (C). Keep those DSP pieces laid out in order, so you know how to position it onto your card to have the pattern flow from panel to panel.
Next, I cut a traditional Petal Pink card base, 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored it at the 1-1/2" and 4-1/4" marks along the 8-1/2" side. I folded the first panel back and second panel forward to create a Z-Fold.
Panel Scene Basics—If you want any stamping on the inside, you'll want to add that first onto the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White. I stamped the Season of Chic shell image in Petal Pink, Soft Suede and Flirty Flamingo on the bottom right corner. I adhered the right DSP (C) piece to the left side of the stamped piece, then adhered it to the inside card.
Next, I adhered the left DSP (A) piece the front panel with a 1/8" border around the three edges and the right side hanging off edge. When the card is closed, this panel will cover the inside of the card. Finally, I opened up the card and adhered the middle DSP (B) piece to the center area so that there was a 1/8" border between the first piece (A) and 4-1/4" score line. The finished panels create the full scene when the card is open.
Background Basics—I adhered the 1" x 5-1/4" polka dot DSP down the left side of the card. Next, I die-cut a Soft Suede cross-hatch die-cut, which is reminiscent of netting, and adhered it with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Shells & Sentiment Collage—I stamped each of the Season of Chic shells onto Basic White cardstock, one in Flirty Flamingo ink and one in Petal Pink ink. I die-cut those shells, as well as a Soft Suede shell shape with the coordinating Chic Dies. I also die-cut a detailed shell die-cut from the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper and adhered that to the Soft Suede shell with Liquid Glue. I adhered the Petal Pink shell to the card front with Liquid Glue. Then I popped up the Soft Suede shell. Then I popped up the sentiment. Finally, I added the Flirty Flamingo shell with Dimensionals so that it was hanging off the card front edge.
Finishing Touches—I added a couple of copper colored Brushed Metallic Dots under the sentiment to pick up the pinkish tones. Those look gold in the photo, but it's really the copper ones.
Inside The Card—Here's a look at the Z-Fold from the side. To see the card in action, simply click on my LIVE Class Video Replay link above.
