Texture Chic Double-Time DSP Card
Here's a fun technique to try with Designer Series Paper. You may have done a similar technique with stamping called the "Double-Time Stamping" technique. It's where the stamping, or in this case the DSP, flow the pattern from one layer to another. So cool!
DSP Card Basics—I started with a traditional 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of Soft Succulent cardstock that's scored at the 4-1/4" mark. I cut a Texture Chic DSP background piece that was 5-1/4" x 4", then used one of the rectangles from the Radiating Stitches Dies to die-cut a window out of the center of the DSP. I adhered the outer frame of the DSP window to the card front. Then, I adhered the middle piece from the frame onto a 4-1/4" x 2-7/8" piece of Soft Succulent cardstock. Taking care to position it so that there was a continuation of the pattern, I popped up this layer with Dimensionals.
Lovely Leaves—I die-cut two solid leaves with the Chic Dies in Soft Suede and Blushing Bride. I die-cut the overlay leaf shape for both from the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper, then adhered that to the solid leaves with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Then, I set these aside to work on the sentiment.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped a Season of Chic sentiment in Evening Evergreen ink onto a Basic White Stylish Shapes banner die-cut. I wanted to add some ribbon so that it was peaking out from under the banner sentiment. So, I used my SEAL Adhesive to add a strip of adhesive across the card front where I wanted to place the banner and added a piece of Soft Succulent Satin Ribbon. I popped up the sentiment over the top and trimmed the ends of the ribbon at a diagonal.
Finishing Accents—I finished by adding the leaves around the sentiment, tucking one underneath and layering one next to it with a combination of SEAL and Dimensionals. I finished with a few Brushed Metallic Dots, two in gold and one in copper to pick up the pink hues. Oooh…this one is so simple and stunning!
