Hi Stamping Friends!
I'm wishing you all a very happy & relaxing 4th of July weekend! Will you be spending some time stamping? I know I will!
Today I wanted to share some very helpful Blendabilities videos created by the training team at Stampin' Up! If you haven't seen them yet, check out all of the new products in the Blendabilities Markers line at my previous Blendabilities post!
There's More Than One Way To Color—I can tell you from first-hand experience that, if you're not used to using alcohol markers, there's a bit of a learning curve. The good part, though, is that there are many ways to "bake this cake," and ALL of them are the "right" way!
Take some time to watch some of the different methods below!
Coloring From Light-To-Dark With Medium Nib—Angie Backman
Angie shows you how to get a simple ombré look by coloring from light-to-dark with the medium nib end, then blending the whole image with the brush tip end of the light color.
Using A Lighter Touch—Angie Backman
Angie explains how to color flower shapes and skinny line images by using the light-to-dark method and a light touch.
Coloring Dark-To-Light With Brush Tip—Greg Cottrell
Greg approaches his coloring from the opposite direction…dark-to-light! He shows how to feather out the color and use the Color Lifter to add highlights for a look that has a watercolor feel.
Sectioned Shading & Coloring Rhinestones—Katie Adams
Katie likes to coat the shaded areas with the light color first, then add in the dark and medium shading colors, and finish off with the light again. She recommends working on finishing small areas at a time so that the ink stays wet on the card stock.
See how easy it is to alter the color of Rhinestones, too!
Bring Out The Shading Depth In Flowers—Teri Allen
Like Katie, Teri likes to put down a light layer down first, then add the darker and medium shades before blending over the whole area again with the light. Work one petal at a time for best results, and add more dark colors or the Color Lifter for more depth.

See What I Mean? If you watched all of the videos, then you can see how every one of these stampers have their own variation on the blending & shading techniques.
I encourage you to try out some of these Blendabilities techniques on your own and figure out the way that works best for you! Once you give them a try, you'll get a feel for the blending and have outstanding results in no time at all!
