Thoughtful Branches Lovely Hydrangea Cards

The gorgeous, intricately cut leafy die from the Beautiful Branches Thinlits does double duty as either the full foliage on a tree or tiny petals on a hydrangea-like flower. I love the versatility! Today's cards feature that pretty hydrangea bloom!

Background Basics—The first layer on top of the Marina Mist card base is a 4" x 5-1/4" Marina Mist layer that's been embossed with the Petal Burst Texture Impressions Folder.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the greeting from the Thoughtful Branches stamp set in Marina Mist onto a 4" x 1-3/4" piece of Whisper White. I lined the top edge with a 4" x 1/4" Dazzling Diamonds paper border, then adhered the layer onto the card front.

Hydrangea Leaves—The stem and leaves for the flower where die-cut with the Beautiful Branches Thinlits from Wild Wasabi card stock. Don't forget to use the Precision Base Plate & Die Brush to help with the die-cutting on the leaves! You'll get nice clean cuts and the pieces will release easily, too! The Fine-Tip Glue Pen is the best way to adhere this intricate die-cut.

Hydrangea Blooms—I stamped the hydrangea petals image onto Whisper White card stock in Marina Mist ink, then cut it out with the Beautiful Branches Thinlits. The thinlit is designed so that you can see through it to line up all of the outer edges of the image for perfect positioning every time!

Finishing Touches—I loved the look of the bloom being popped up, so I trimmed my Dimensionals down to some very tiny pieces that fit behind the shape. It took a little time & patience, but it was well worth it! Then, I brushed a little Wink of Stella Clear over every petal…also takes a bit of time, but it MAKES this card! I really love how it turned out! You can only barely see all the shimmering loveliness in this photo. Trust me! Worth it!

Two Cool—I couldn't wait to try the flower in Wisteria Wonder for the second card! So pretty!
