Thoughtful Branches You're In My Thoughts Cards

The Thoughtful Branches Bundle is absolutely PERFECT for autumn-themed cards like today's project, but don't be fooled! It's also fantastic for creating gorgeous winter and summer cards, too! For my class kit, I tried to include a nice variety of all-occasion projects using the Thoughtful Branches stamp set and Beautiful Branches Thinlits.

My You're In My Thoughts cards are one of my faves from the kit! I hope you agree!

Inspired by Darla Eigenschink at Hoosier Stampgirl.

Background Basics—This card starts by adhering a 1/4" x 5" strip of NEW Copper Foil along the edge of the 3-3/4" x 5" Whisper White background. The Copper Foil will be available on Wednesday with the release of the Holiday Catalog and it is a MUST-HAVE! EEEEeeeee!

I stamped along the edge with the small leaf image, inked alternatively in Cajun Craze and Dapper Denim. The right side corners are rounded with the Project Life Corner Rounder. I matted that layer onto a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Early Espresso card stock, also rounded on the corners, then mounted on a Dapper Denim card base.

Sweet Sentiment—Next, I stamped the greeting from Thoughtful Branches in Dapper Denim ink onto a scrap of Whisper White and die-cut it with the Layering Circles Framelits. I love the copper loops of thread underneath the sentiment! To add those, I covered the back of the circle with SNAIL adhesive, then wrapped Copper Thread around my fingers about 4-5 times, twisted them into a "figure 8" and attached them to the adhesive back. Then, I added some Dimensionals to the back to both hold the threads in place and pop up the element on the card front.

Finishing Touches—Finally, I die-cut the Copper Foil leaves using the branch die from the Beautiful Branches Thinlits in the bundle. I cut the leaves apart and tucked them under the circle with a couple of Glue Dots. OOoohhh! The copper elements are BEA-U-TI-FUL!

I highly recommend the Precision Base Plate & Die Brush to help with the die-cutting on the leaves! You'll get nice clean cuts and the pieces will release easily, too!

Two Cool—The only things I changed on the second card are the leaves down the side, this time stamped with Soft Sky, and the focal point moved up a bit.
