Tidings & Trimmings Pair of Stockings Cards
Christmas stockings are a classic holiday image and I love the delicate designs of the stockings in the beautiful Tidings & Trimmings bundle. I featured a couple of ways that you could decorate them on this pair of cards.
Background Basics—I started by adhering a 1-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper onto the front of a Gray Granite card base. Next, I embossed a 2-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock with one of the mini embossing folders from the Greenery pack. I love that the texture includes leaves and berry-topped branches that coordinate perfectly with the imagery in this bundle!
I finished the background by adding a strip of the gorgeous Mint Macaron Soft Velvet Ribbon down the seam of the two layers, trimming the ends flush with the edges of the card.
Sweet Sentiment Circle—I created a foundation for the focal point by die-cutting a Basic White circle using the Layering Circles Dies. I stamped it with a Tidings & Trimmings sentiment inked in Cherry Cobbler.
Sweet Stockings—I stamped the Tidings & Trimmings stocking image in Gray Granite ink and Cherry Cobbler ink onto Basic White scrap cardstock. On the Granite image, I used a Dark Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends Marker to add color to some of the leaves and the cuff. I die-cut the stockings with the coordinating Christmas Trimmings Die. The stockings are adhered with SEAL Adhesive to the circle layer, which is popped up with Dimensionals onto the card front.
Finishing Touches—I stamped the bow image in Cherry Cobbler, colored it in with the Light Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends Marker, die-cut it with the appropriate Christmas Trimmings die and attached with a Glue Dot. I finished by coloring three Rhinestone Jewels with the Dark Mint Macaron Blends Marker and floating them around the sentiment.
Two Cool—I began with a Sahara Sand card base on a horizontal orientation for the second card. The front is decorated with a strip from the Hand-Penned DSP and a Mint Macaron textured layer. I tied the soon-to-return Real Red Sheer Ribbon around the card front. This ribbon was introduced last holiday season and is currently in a hiatus, but will be a returning favorite in the upcoming Mini Catalog beginning August 3!
Sensational Circle—I tried out a different Tidings & Trimmings sentiment on this card. The stockings are stamped in Sahara Sand for the intricate design and Mint Macaron for the more solid design. I die-cut some adorable little Soft Succulent holly leaves and Cherry Cobbler berries from the Christmas Trimmings Dies and adhered them with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The rhinestones are colored with a Dark Soft Succulent Blends Marker. There are so many cool die-cut details you can add to your Tidings & Trimmings cards…take some time to try them out!
