Tidings & Trimmings Sweet Star Cards
I love the possibilities that the Christmas Tidings Dies offer for beautiful layering details! The card I created for the kit features a simple solid star with an intricate star die-cut focal point. I especially love the second card with a gold foil intricate die-cut star and the additional foliage and berries die-cuts…stepping it up into a WOW card! Take the time to die-cut a few extra pieces and see how it transforms your card!
"
Background Basics—My class card begins with stamping the Tidings & Trimmings star image in Soft Succulent ink randomly over a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Basic White cardstock. I layered it onto a 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Cherry Cobbler, then mounted it onto a Thick Basic White card base.
Next, I embossed the 5" x 1" strip of Evening Evergreen cardstock with the Meadow Moments Embossing Folder and adhered it across the front.
Sweet Star—I die-cut a Christmas Trimmings star from a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Soft Succulent cardstock, which I used on yesterday's card. I die-cut the intricate star from Cherry Cobbler cardstock, then adhered it with Liquid Multipurpose Glue and a sponge. The star is adhered to the card front with SEAL Adhesive.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped a Tidings & Trimmings phrase in Evening Evergreen ink onto a 2-3/8" x 3/4" strip of Basic White, fishtail cut the ends and popped it up with Dimensionals. I finished by adding a couple of Rhinestone Jewels around the sentiment. So lovely!
Finishing Touches—I colored a large Rhinestone Jewel with the Dark Evening Evergreen Stampin' Blends Markers and added it to the star center.
Two Cool—Oooh…I love, Love, LOVE this one so much! It's so elegant! I started by stamping the Basic White layer with the stars in Crumb Cake ink. I left off the mat layer, adhering it directly to the Soft Suede card base. I also made the embossed strip a little longer; the Early Espresso strip is 5-1/2" x 1".
Focal Point—The solid star is in Crumb Cake cardstock and the intricate layer is in Gold Foil. So elegant! I stamped the Tidings & Trimmings sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink onto Basic White, punched it out with the Double Oval Punch and popped it up with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I die-cut a Cherry Cobbler berry branch and two Soft Suede leafy branches using the Christmas Tidings dies, then tucked them under the oval with Glue Dots. I finished by adding a couple of Merry Merlot Holiday Rhinestones. Absolutely stunning!!!
