I'm always looking for ways to create a quick & cute favor that I can give to attendees of my monthly team Stamp & Share event and today's project was perfect! I paired the new Copper Dotted Treat Bags and Tags & More Accessory Kit to create this month's gifts.
Copper Dotted Treat Bags—Flat Whisper White bags with a pretty copper foil pattern. 10 bags measuring 4-3/4" x 6-1/2".
Tags & More Accessory Kit—Tag-making components that perfectly coordinate with the Copper Treat Bags! 10 tags, 10 labels, 3 colors of twine, copper foil washi tape and copper library clips.
Gusseted Treat Bag Basics—While you could certainly decorate the tags and attach them to the flat Copper Treat Bags, I wanted my treats to stand up on the table, so I modified them into gusseted bags. I showed how to create them for my Facebook LIVE class last week (watch below), but here are the basic steps.
- Using the Simply Scored tool, score along the bottom of the bag at the 1" mark.
- Score along each side of the bag, 3/4" in from the edge.
- Snip the bottom of the bag open, all three flaps, with Paper Snips.
- Fold the side score lines to create the gusset.
- Fold the bottom flaps together and adhere with Tear & Tape Adhesive.
- Add a 1-3/4" x 3-1/4" piece of chipboard inside the bag at the bottom for stability.
- Fold over the top of the bag and attach the tag!
Tag Focal Point—I stamped the cute tag image from the exclusive host set called Time For Tags in VersaMark Ink onto Whisper White cardstock. I sprinkled it with Copper Embossing Powder and heat-set until glossy and smooth with the Heat Tool. I colored the tags with Stampin' Blends in coordinating colors: Calypso Coral Dark, Rich Razzleberry Light, Pool Party Light, Granny Apple Green Light, Pretty Peacock Light and Bronze. All of the images in that stamp set are designed to be punched with the Timeless Tag Punch! I popped it up with more Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I wanted to make that focal point really pop, so I added some coordinating color behind it. I die-cut scallop circles with the Layering Circles dies, then trimmed off two sides of the circle and tucked them under each side of the Timeless Label shape. Next, I tied a bow with either the Terracotta Tile, Blackberry Bliss or Granny Apple Green twine from the kit and attached it with a Glue Dot. I finished by coloring a couple of Pearl Jewels with the Bronze Stampin' Blends Marker to make them look like copper, then added them to either side.
Copper Clip Closure—These bags are pretty generous in size, so they'll hold all kinds of goodies! I added some fun-size chocolate bars, but you could use it for gift cards, cash, jewelry, hair bows, small toys, or even hand-baked treats, since the bags are food-safe! Fold over the top and clip the tag onto the front with the copper library clip. Adorable!
