Hi Stamping Friends!
Every time a new catalog is released, there are so many items on my Wish List that it's difficult to decide what to purchase first and what I can live without…at least for a little while! After playing with many of the 2019 Occasions Catalog items over the last month, I've discovering that there are several items that are jumping out as my favorites!
Today, I thought I'd share a list of my Top 10 Too Cool Must-Have products from the Occasions Catalog. These are all items that I personally love because of their awesome versatility and/or Too Cool factor! You'll have to forgive me, because many times I've had to select TWO cool products (or more) together due to Stampin' Up's AMAZING coordination. Some items just go hand-in-hand and THAT's what makes them Too Cool!

I was so very excited to see butterflies making a comeback in the Occasions Catalog…and they made one in a BIG WAY! I adore the two-step, two-up butterfly images in the Butterfly Gala stamp set (148580, or 150599 bundle) and I love the coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch (148523) that cuts them out in one quick step! The stamp set features 4 styles of butterfly pairs, plus there are solid stamps to instantly fill in both the large and small butterflies with color.
Then, you add the Botanical Butterflies Designer Series Paper (149622), which is FREE Sale-a-Bration selection for a $50 order, and your creative possibilities are really multiplied! There are two each of 6 double-sided sheets, with one side in full-color butterfly & floral patterns and the other side in black & white butterfly and graphic patterns. 2. Gingham Gala DSP & Sequins, Plus Organdy Ribbon Pack
The Butterfly Gala products are part of the Gingham Gala suite, but I had to break it up into two parts because there is just too much awesomeness in one suite! The Gingham Gala 6×6" Designer Series Paper (148556) features 8 sheets each of 5 cheerful colors: Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Lemon Lime Twist & Highland Heather. One side of the papers has small checks and the other side has a larger check pattern.
Talk About Coordination! The coordinating Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins (148561) feature 25 each of the same 5 colors in a round and flower shape—250 total! Plus, the Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack (149623), another Sale-a-Bration selection, features a beautiful 1/4" organdy in the same 5 colors! You get 5 yds. of each color for a total of 25 yds. Oh, and did I mention that the Botanical Butterflies DSP above is also in those same 5 colors? Wow! Between the butterflies and the colorful accessories, the possibilities have exploded!

3. Well-Said Bundle
This is one of those bundles that you will never get rid of! It's the ultimate collection of all-occasions greetings! The 51 words & phrases in the Well Said stamp set (148796, 150609 bundle), combined with the 24 words & accents from the Well Written Framelits (148534), will be your go-to sentiment set for years to come! Mix & match the stamped words with the die-cuts to create cool focal points on the outside of your card, then use one of the 15 all-occasion phrases on the inside of your card! Yes, it's a little pricey at $76.50, but YES, IT'S WORTH IT!

4. Rectangle Stitched Framelits
The Rectangle Stitched Framelits (148551) are another instant-classic die set! Like the Stitched Shapes Framelits, they have a beautiful faux-stitched border cut around the outside edge of the shapes. Unlike the Stitched Shapes Framelits, they also have a faux-stitched border on the OUTSIDE of the rectangle, too, so you can create a true rectangle frame or window with that beautiful stitched detail! Too Cool!
5. Be Mine Stitched Framelits & All My Love DSP
I think the entire All My Love suite is delightful, which is a high compliment since I'm not typically a hearts fan! My two favorite items from the suite are the BEAUTIFUL All My Love Paper (148576) and the Be Mine Stitched Framelits (148527). The patterns in the DSP are so pretty for Valentine's Day, as well as any "love" occasion like weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and thinking of you. I love that it can be used throughout the season! And the dies, much like the Rectangle Stitched Framelits, have pretty faux-stitched edges on the inside and outside of the dies! There are lots of sizes and shapes of hearts, including some detailed edgelits that make a lovely border detail. Oh, and some of the framelits coordinate perfectly with some of the heart shapes in the All My Love DSP, so you can easily die-cut printed heart shapes! Love it!

6. Floral Romance DSP & Frosted Flowers Embellishments
Like the All My Love suite, I could have selected the whole Floral Romance suite because I love so much of it! Mostly, I adore the soft colors and pretty patterns, which is how I narrowed down my selection to the accents. The Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper (148586) includes 3 each of 2 beautiful vellum designs, along with 3 each of 2 double-sided regular paper patterns. The vellum goes perfectly with the soft, romantic feel of the suite! The sweet little Frosted Flowers Embellishments (148782) complement the vellum perfectly with their frosted, translucent look in matching colors. I can't wait to try altering the color of the clear flowers with my Stampin' Blends Markers!

7. Birthday Cheer Bundle & Itty Bitty Birthdays Stamps
You can never have enough straight-up birthday sets and greetings…am I right? The Birthday Cheer stamp set (148604, 150576 bundle) has some alternative greetings to just the traditional "happy birthday" to give you some options! I love that they are in varied sizes that could be used as a focal point on the outside of the card, or as a message on the inside. The coordinating Detailed Birthday Edgelits (148548) offer some unique die-cut birthday elements and borders that will be fun to play with, too! And, then there is the Itty Bitty Birthdays greeting stamp set (148618) that is another set you'll definitely want to add to your permanent collection! Perfect birthday sentiments for all ages!
8. Vibrant Vases Stamp Set
If you love the Varied Vases stamp set and coordinating Vases Builder Punch from the Annual Catalog, the Vibrant Vases stamp set (148656) is a lovely extension of that pair! We have new vase patterns and textures for each vessel shape, along with some fresh new two-step bouquets to fill them. Can't go wrong with these sweet & pretty images that will be perfect for spring well-wishes!
9. Piece of Cake Bundle
And, talking about sweet…the Piece of Cake stamp set (148610, 150579 bundle) is the sweetest! Decorate your mini cake for all kinds of occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and more! The images are perfect for coloring with any medium or heat embossing for more elegance. Once your cake is decorated, punch it out easily with the matching Cake Builder Punch (148525).
10. Needlepoint Elements Framelits & Old Olive Linen Thread
I'm going to be honest…I wasn't loving the Needlepoint Nook suite at first, but it's one group of products that is surprisingly growing on me! One thing that changed my feelings about it was watching the video about how the Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper (148807) was made! You have to watch it to appreciate the detail and thoughtfulness that went into creating the beautiful, intricate patterns!
What I did like from the very beginning were the Needlepoint Elements Framelits (148541) and the Old Olive Linen Thread (148811). The framelits have dies that cut out the images from the Needle & Thread stamp set (148724, 150626 bundle), as well as several dies that create a delightful faux-stitched design on the paper. I love that you can use those stitching dies to create a pretty background pattern on card layers much like you use embossing folders. The edgelits create lovely borders, too! The designs coordinately beautifully with many of the other suites, like the stitched butterfly that goes with the Butterfly Duet Punch. And, of course, who doesn't love the addition of a colored Linen Thread. Did you see that it matches the Floral Romance DSP, too!
I couldn't end this Top 10 Must-Have List without mentioning my absolute FAVORITE thing introduced in the Occasions Catalog…CLING MOUNT STAMPS! Stampers had been so frustrated with the "clear mount" version of the red rubber stamps in the past, due to their inability to stay stuck to the clear block without the assistance of some type of tape or glue. If you've tried them, you may have been frustrated when your inked stamp fell off the block right onto your project when you were trying to stamp. UGH!
Well, not anymore! The NEW Cling Mount stamps have an extra-sticky label, so your stamp will stay stuck! Woohoo! If you had stopped putting your labels on the old clear mount style, it's time to start putting them back ON! They will cling better than ever before if you use the sticker! Please Note: The stickers are SO sticky that you need to take care when taking them off the block. Rather than pulling the stamp off, which can risk tearing the sticker off the foam, you should LIFT the stamp at the edge and carefully PEEL it off the block.
