Hi Stamping Friends!
Is this summer flying by, or what?!! This whole year has been going so quickly, and has been so out-of-the-ordinary for me, that it has really kept me on my toes! I haven't had much of a chance to get back into a comfortable routine, and that's OK.
After my dad's passing earlier this year, I've adjusted my priorities to focus more on re-connecting with family & friends. I needed to get into a better balance with relationships and experiences that mattered to me. Funny how losing someone makes you appreciate the truly important stuff even more. I still have a long way to go to achieve the balance I want, but I feel so very blessed to have a job THAT I LOVE that is flexible enough to allow me the opportunity to focus on making the most of EVERY MOMENT in my life. Thank you, Stampin' Up!
I haven't done nearly as much creating this year as I would have liked because of my "extraordinary" year, but I'm so thankful that my stamping friends continue to inspire me and are so willing to share their beautiful creations! I'll be sharing lots of their projects over the next couple of weeks while I'm spending time with my family preparing for and celebrating the wedding of my niece. I hope you enjoy seeing their creations and unique styles! Each project has my Too Cool Seal of Approval!
I can hardly wait for just a few weeks from now when I can dive in and start creating Too Cool projects from the brand new Holiday Catalog! It comes out on September 1, and I'll have preliminary local and online holiday class information, including my annual Countdown To Christmas Series, by the end of August! That's just one month away! Holy Neds, this summer really is flying by!
I hope that you are enjoying every moment of your summer, too! Looking forward to stamping with you soon!

Touches of Texture Sending Wishes Card
Ooohh! I love the background of this card created by Dania Welch! So delightfully pretty, it looks like Designer Series Paper! It would be fun to make a whole sheet of this pattern and cut up the paper for a One-Sheet Wonder ensemble of cards! I also love the color combination! Love!
Two-Step Flower Stamping—The Touches of Texture stamp set makes it so easy to re-create this look! Dania started by stamping all of the outline flower images in Early Espresso ink randomly over a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White.
Then, she stamped all of the two-step fill-in images over the top of the outlines. The cool part about the second step is that the fill-in images are intentionally designed to NOT fit the outline shape perfectly, giving a very artistic look. Here are the colors & textures she used:
- Stamp the large flower in Flirty Flamingo
- Stamp the medium flower in Peekaboo Peach with the letter patterned image
- Stamp the flowers on the stem in Sweet Sugarplum, stamped multiple times without re-inking for a variation in tone.
Texture Stamping—Next, Dania stamped with the dotted splatter stamp in Crumb Cake ink all over the background, stamping twice without re-inking for variation in tone. A second texture image is stamped in So Saffron the same way. This stamped layering really adds depth and interest to the background pattern!
Layering Basics—She matted the stamped layer onto a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Early Espresso. Then, she wrapped a piece of Watermelon Wonder 5/8" Striped Ribbon around the layer, adhering the ends on the back with SNAIL. It's all adhered to a Flirty Flamingo card base.
Sweet Sentiment—The Butterfly Basics greeting is stamped in Early Espresso onto Whisper White card stock, then punched with the Decorative Label Punch and popped up with Dimensionals.
Complete Supplies List—"Clear" means a rubber stamp on a clear block. "Photopolymer" is see-thru.
- Stamps—Touches of Texture (clear, wood), Butterfly Basics (clear, wood, photopolymer)

Touches of Texture Grateful Card
Laura Milligan brings us a Touches of Texture card with a lovely collage look! The images and accents layer together so effortlessly! Here's how her card came together…
Background Basics & Sentiment—Laura started by inking the long, narrow Touches of Texture image in Delightful Dijon and stamping it in the center of a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Very Vanilla card stock. Next, she stamped the splatter image in Dapper Denim ink, stamped off once first. Then, she stamped the three small flowers and grateful greeting from Endless Thanks in Dapper Denim at full strength.
The stamped layer is matted onto a 3-5/8" x 4-7/8" layer of Delightful Dijon, then mounted onto a Dapper Denim card base.
Layered Accents—Laura punched a 2" x 2-1/4" piece of the navy & vanilla pattern of Morroccan Designer Series Paper with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch and adhered it to the card with SNAIL.
She used a second Morroccan DSP pattern, also 2" x 2-1/4" in size for the second accent, which was fishtailed with the Banner Triple Punch. She sponged Dapper Denim ink on the second accent and stamped the medium Touches of Texture flower on it in Delightful Dijon ink. This accent is adhered to the card front with Dimensionals.
Finally, stamp the dragonfly in Dapper Denim onto Very Vanilla, punch with the 1-3/4" Circle Punch and add with Dimensionals. A little Wink of Stella Clear on the wings makes it really pop!
Finishing Touches—She used two pieces of Linen Thread to create a small bow, adhered to the tag with a Glue Dot. A few Dapper Denim Enamel Dots around the collage give shiny finishing touches.
Complete Supplies List—"Clear" means a rubber stamp on a clear block. "Photopolymer" is see-thru.
