Nautical - two cool

The beautiful ship image is the focus of my second Traveler class card.  Although I didn't use the Maritime Designer Series Paper, I did use it's color combination to give the cards a nautical feel.

Nautical - birthday

Background Basics—I started with two 5-1/4" x 2" background elements, one plain Coastal Cabana piece, and one Cherry Cobbler piece that's been embossed with the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder.  I adhered those side-by-side on my Whisper White card base.

Next, I added a 5-1/4' x 1" layer of Night of Navy Designer Series Paper from the Regals DSP Stack over the seam.

  Nautical - birthday 3

Star Banners—Along the bottom edge of the DSP, I added two Banner punches adorned with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper stars.  The star punch is part of the new Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, along with a cute heart and flower shape.

Ship Rope—I wrapped some Coastal Cabana Thick Baker's Twine around the card front and tied in a simple knot for another nautical element.

Nautical - birthday 4

Sweet Accents—I added a matching 1/4" wide strip of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper along the top of the DSP for some added sparkle.  TIP: I like to adhere Glimmer Paper, especially skinny strips like this one, with Multipurpose Adhesive Glue.  SNAIL doesn't always like to stick to the slick backing paper.

Sweet Sentiment—The birthday greeting is from Wetlands and is stamped in Night of Navy ink.

Nautical - birthday 2

Ship Focal Point—I stamped the Traveler ship image in Night of Navy, then used a Blender Pen with Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink Pads to color in parts of the ship.  I used the Circle Collection Framelits to cut out the shape.  You could also use the 2-1/2" Circle Punch.  It's popped up with Dimensionals, of course.

Sponged Water—Every card in this month's kit features sponging techniques.  Here, I sponged on Coastal Cabana ink under the ship to simulate the ocean water.

Bling It Up!—Each Traveler Class Kit will come with a full pack of Rhinestone Jewels, so you can add as many of those as you want to your projects!

Nautical - life imagined

I rearranged the background pieces on my second version so that the Coastal Cabana piece became an extension of the sponged sea on the focal point.  Sweet!

Nautical - life imagined 2

The only other difference is the sentiment that is from Really Good Greetings.

Look for more blog posts in the coming days featuring the remaining three projects!
