Get your glitter on! If you love to add sparkle to your cards, and who doesn't during the holidays, then you'll love the Heat & Stick adhesive! It allows you to add glitter to any stamp image for a fabulous WOW card in a few easy steps!
I used the Heat & Stick Powder to create the red glittery ornament from the Tree Trimmings stamp set. See how it matches the red glittery stripe in the Candy Cane Christmas Specialty Paper? (click to enlarge it) Fantastic!
Heat & Stick Powder is like embossing powder that becomes sticky when it's heated, allowing you to adhere fine glitter, Pearl Ex, or even microbeads. I used Galaxy Fine Glitter, which has all the basic colors you need: red, black, champagne, gold and silver.
Once your glitter is applied, you reheat the image to set the glitter in place. It is great for achieving a nice coverage of glitter that actually stays put on your project.
How To Use It:
- Rub the Embossing Buddy across your card stock to eliminate static and oils that the powder could inadvertantly stick to.
- Ink your image in VersaMark or Craft Ink (any ink that is sticky enough for embossing powder). TIP: Using the same color Craft Ink under the glitter will help it look more filled in).
- Drizzle on Heat & Stick Powder like you would embossing powder.
- Heat the powder with your Heat Tool, and—this is very important—as soon as it turns glossy, STOP immediately! Do not overheat the powder, or it will quickly lose its stickiness. TIP: When working on card stock, you may want to heat from the underside to avoid overheating the top surface of the powder.
- Cover the sticky image with fine glitter, tap off excess.
- Reheat the image to set the glitter in place. You won't be able to see much of a change in the glitter to know it's set, just heat the entire image for a few seconds. If you heat too long, you can scorch the glitter, taking away the sparkle and darkening the color.
- Brush off any loose glitter.
Why Choose Heat & Stick Powder?
- To apply glitter in the shape of a stamp design. Any shape—bold or line image!
- To have better glitter coverage than with a Glue Pen or Glue Pad. Achieve precise glitter placement and more sparkle!
- So you don't have to wait for Multipurpose Glue, White Glue, or Crystal Effects to dry. For example, it's great for applying glitter to chipboard!
- To reduce the amount of glitter that falls off the project. When it's set, it stays!
More Card Details
The vertically-folded Baja Breeze card base is dry embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder. The Candy Cane Christmas DSP is accented with a Real Red Scallop Trim Border Punch and Real Red 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon.
Sentiment is from the Occasional Quotes Level 3 Hostess Set and is punched with the Decorative Label Punch.
Ticket Punch Corners Trick: I don't have the Ticket Corner Punch, so I used the 3/4" Circle Punch to nip quarter circles off each of the corners. You can make each layered corner identical by punching the white and red layers at the same time. Move the smaller top piece flush to one corner of the bottom piece, punch a nip in that corner, then repeat for each corner. It makes the layers look terrific and lined up, even if your nips aren't exactly even!

Angie, This is a beautiful card. I like it that you always show at least two versions of each card. Carmen
Thanks, Carmen! I think having Two Cool cards is becoming my trademark!
Angie: I love the color combination on these cards. Can’t wait to make these at Club night!!
