Tropical Oasis Happy Sticky Note Holders
I love making these little sticky note holders, so I can continue to enjoy some of my favorite Designer Series Papers even after they retire. These little 3" x 3" notes are perfect for carrying in your purse, leaving in your car, tucking in your backpack or setting by your desk. They are surprisingly durable, too!
Holder Basics—I created the sticky notes holder by starting with an 8-1/2" x 3-1/4" piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock, scored at the 1-1/2", 2", 5" and 5-1/2" marks. I folded and creased the folds with my Bone Folder. I used the Detailed Trio Punch to round the corners of the front flap before mounting the 3" x 3" sticking notes to the center panel with Tear & Tape Adhesive.
The holder is held shut with a small dot of hook & loop (like Velcro brand).
DSP Décor—I decorated the holder on all sides with the Tropical Oasis DSP, adhered with SNAIL adhesive.
- Front Flap – 3" x 1-1/4" with corners rounded on the bottom.
- Front Panel – 3" x 2-3/4"
- Two Sides – 3" x 1"
- Back Side – 3" x 2-3/4"
Focal Point—I stamped a couple of Timeless Tropical flowers in Mango Melody ink onto a Whisper White Stitched So Sweetly die-cut. The sentiment, from the Tasteful Textures stamp set, is stamped over the top in Shaded Spruce. The label is attached to the front flap of the holder with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I die-cut a small Mango Melody flower and Old Olive leaf using the coordinating In The Tropics dies and attached those with Glue Dots. Then, I finished by adding a couple of Merry Merlot jewels from the Holiday Rhinestones pack. I also frayed the ends of a small strip of Braided Burlap Trim and adhered that to the bottom with some Tear & Tape Adhesive for a little extra tropical texture.
Two Cool—The second holder starts with a Pretty Peacock cardstock base and a Pretty Peacock pattern of the Tropical Oasis DSP. The only other difference is that I used Mango Melody gems from the Holiday Rhinestone pack.
Three Cool—The sticky note holder is Soft Suede this time, with the pretty tropical lily pattern of Tropical Oasis DSP. The only difference from the first note holder is that the flowers were stamped in Pool Party, stamped off once, under the sentiment.
Can you think of someone who would love to receive one of these cute & handy note holders? I like to make a dozen at a time and hand them out to friends, neighbors and people around the community as a sweet little thinking of you or thank you gift.
