It's so fun to pair the Picture This Dies with any little characters, cute images or even pretty papers. I couldn't wait to try it with the Turtle Friends Bundle and it quickly became my favorite card from my LIVE Class. The Party Puffins set was so fun to play with, too! Peekaboo Farm is another stamp set that would be perfect for this style of card, and there are all kinds of stamp sets that would work well: Friends Are Like Seashells, Brew Some Fun, Sweet Strawberry, Pampered Pets, Stellar Birthday, Hippo Happiness, Way To Goat, Hey Birthday Chick, Snowman Season, Garden Birdhouses and many more!
Background Basics—I started with three layers: a Crumb Cake card base, a 4" x 5-1/4" Basic White layer, and a 3-3/4" x 5" Coastal Cabana layer that is die-cut with the circles Picture This Die. I positioned the window layer over the white layer without adhering to begin stamping some of the elements:
I stamped the Turtle Friends hearts, bird and sentiment in Poppy Parade ink directly through the window.
I stamped the grass image in Granny Apple Green ink directly through the windows.
I stamped the two small turtles in Memento Tuxedo Black ink directly through the windows.
Next, I mounted the Basic White layer onto the card front then used a gazillion Dimensionals to pop up the circle window layer over the top.
Terrific Turtles—I stamped the large turtle in Memento Black ink onto scrap Basic White cardstock. I colored all three turtles with the Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Marker for the bodies, Light Granny Apple Green for the shells and Light Bermuda Bay Blends on their toes. I stamped each with the corresponding shell in Granny Apple Green ink.
I punched out the turtle with the Turtle Punch, then cut a bit of his butt off, tucking him inside the large circle and popping him up with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I stamped a little bowtie in Bermuda Bay ink onto Basic White, hand-cut it and adhered it to the turtle. I finished by adding some Wink of Stella glimmer to all of the shell patterns, the bow tie, the bird, the hearts and even the word "friends" in the sentiment. I LOVE the sparkliness…it really makes the card!
Two Cool—The Party Puffins stamp set had awesome elements for peeking from the Picture This windows, too! This time, my layers were a Bermuda Bay card base, the same Basic White layer and a Granny Apple Green window layer. The sentiment is the only thing I stamped through the window; everything else was stamped on scrap Basic White and hand-cut.
Before popping up the window layer, I added a couple of 1" square piece of Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper (already sold out and retired).
Puffin Party Images—I stamped the Party Puffins bird and the cake in Memento Black and colored them with light Stampin' Blends in Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay, Pale Papaya and Granny Apple Green. The fish is stamped in Memento Black and colored with light Granny Apple Green and Calypso Coral. Of course, I finished with lots of Wink of Stella shimmer on the puffin's beak, feet and hat, the cake's icing and flames, and the fish. Perfectly delightful!
