Hi Stamping Friends!
Have you tried a Double-Dutch style fancy fold card? Two members from the Too Cool team brought this style of card to our recent fancy fold shoebox swap event. It's a deceptively easy fold to create, especially if you have a handy Stampin' Trimmer! Check out the details below!

1) Kathe's Oh So Succulent Double-Dutch Card
Kathe Madsen shared this pretty double-dutch card featuring the Oh So Succulent stamp set and Succulent Garden Designer Series paper.
Creating The Card Base—This card begins with an 8-1/2" x 8-1/8" piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock. Use your Stampin' Trimmer to cut and score your card base:
- Score along the 8-1/2" side at the 2-1/8' and 6-3/8" marks.
- Score along the 8-1/8" side at the 5-1/2" mark.
- Along the 8-1/8" side, cut down to the score line at the 4" mark. Repeat on the opposite side. Trim off the top panels leaving the 4" gate folds.
Card Front Background—Kathe used a Project Life Corner Rounder Punch to round all the corners of her card base. She also ran the top flap through the Big Shot with the Petal Burst embossing Folder. She added 2" x 3-7/8" pieces of the Succulent Garden DSP on each gate-fold panel, also rounding those corners. She secured the card closed with some silver Metallic Ribbon from the Sale-a-Bration flyer.
Focal Point—The focal point is die cut from Whisper White with the Stitched Shaped Framelits. Kathe used the Oh So Succulent stamps to create Sweet Sugarplum flowers with Calypso Coral centers and Pear Pizzazz foliage. The sentiment is from Avant Garden, another Sale-a-Bration selection. The stamped circle is layered onto a Sweet Sugarplum Layering Circles Framelits die-cut, then popped up with Dimensionals. Be careful when positioning the Dimensionals so you don't accidentally put them under the part of the circle that extends down past the top flap.

2) Peggy's Hey, Chick Barn Door Double-Dutch Card
I love how Peggy created her double-dutch style card to look like a barn door. It goes perfectly with the chickens! Her card dimensions are slightly different.
Creating The Card Base—This card begins with an 8-3/4" x 8-3/4" piece of Real Red card stock, so you'll need to start with a 12" x 12" sheet for this one. Use your Stampin' Trimmer to cut and score your card base:
- Score along one side at the 2-1/4" and 6-1/2" marks.
- Score along the other side at the 5-1/2" mark.
- Along the same side, cut down to the score line at the 2-1/2" mark. Repeat on the opposite side. Trim off the top panels leaving the 2-1/2" barn doors at the bottom.
Barn Door Décor—Peggy decorated each door with 1-7/8" x 2-1/8" Floral Boutique DSP layered over a 2" x 2-1/4" Night of Navy card stock mat. The Sale-a-Bration Hey, Chick images are stamped in Memento Black ink, then colored with Real Red and Delightful Dijon Markers. They are hand-cut out with super-sharp Paper Snips and popped up with Dimensionals. So cute!
Top Door Décor—The background is a 2-7/8" square of Floral Boutique DSP, layered onto a 3" square Night of Navy mat. Peggy cut a Night of Navy Layering Ovals Framelits shape for behind the chicken. This Hey, Chick image is also stamped in Memento Black, colored with Real Red and Delightful Dijon markers, hand-cut and popped up. The sentiment is stamped in Delightful Dijon onto a Whisper White Layering Ovals shape, and popped up with Dimensionals.
