Hi Stamping Friends!
I'm all packed up and ready to head out to do a Holiday Stamp-a-Stack class for my Gail this afternoon! We've been doing an annual holiday card class for about a decade now and it's become tradition! Oh what fun!
Holiday Card Girls Night Out!—Wouldn't it be fun to start your own holiday card making tradition with your friends? I still have a few dates left for November & December. Contact me to set up your private class at your home or in my studio! I'll bring all the pre-cut supplies. You and your friends can just relax and have fun!

Today, I'm sharing a couple of cards designed by my Too Cool team for a recent shoebox swap. They both spotlight the stunning Star of Light stamp set and thinlits, which is the stamp set I'll be featuring on my next Countdown To Christmas class. See details on that upcoming class coming next week!
Designed by Kathe Madsen.
#1 Star of Light Copper Embossed Card
Kathe Madsen designed this card for our team to create at our shoebox swap, and I loved how easy it was to create this stunning card!
Background & Die-Cut—The background of this card has a 4" x 5-1/4" layer of the beautiful Copper Foil, layered on an Island Indigo card base. To make the most efficient use of the Copper Foil, die-cut the center of the background piece first with the Starlight Thinlits.
TIP: For best cutting results, I recommend using the thinlit with the new Big Shot Platform and Precision Base Cutting Plate. Using those in combination will do the best job of making clean intricate cuts.
TIP: If your top cutting pad has a lot of cuts and marks, you may want to use your Stampin' Trimmer to cut out the inside of your Copper Foil piece before die cutting it. Those marks may mar the delicate foil surface.
Embossed Layer—Stamp the Star of Light swirly stamp onto the top of a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Island Indigo using VersaMark ink. Sprinkle with Copper Embossing Powder, then heat with the Heat Tool until smooth and glossy. Stamp a Star of Light sentiment in VersaMark at the bottom and emboss that with Copper, too.
Copper Star—Adhere the Copper Foil die-cut that was cut from the background layer to an Island Indigo die-cut created with the Starlight Thinlits using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. Pop up this embellishment with Dimensionals.
Complete Supplies List—"Clear" means a rubber stamp on a clear block. "Photopolymer" is see-thru.
- Stamps—Star of Light (photopolymer) OR Star of Light Bundle (photopolymer)
- Ink—VersaMark
- Paper—Copper Foil, Island Indigo
- Accessories—Copper Embossing Powder
- Tools—Starlight Thinlits OR Star of Light Bundle (photopolymer), Big Shot, Big Shot Platform (comes with Big Shots after June 2016), Precision Base Plate, Stampin' Trimmer, Heat Tool, Embossing Buddy, Fine-Tip Glue Pen, Dimensionals, SNAIL

#2 Star of Light Embossed Resist Card
Janet Shinn also designed a Star of Light card for our team swap, this time in silver with an added technique for the background.
Background & Die-Cut—The background of this card has a 4" x 5-1/4" layer of the Silver Foil, layered on a Tempting Turquoise card base. Like Kathe's card above, to make the most efficient use of the Silver Foil, die-cut the center of the background piece first with the Starlight Thinlits.
Embossed Layer—Stamp the Star of Light stars images onto the top of a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White card stock using VersaMark ink. Sprinkle with Silver Embossing Powder, then heat with the Heat Tool until smooth and glossy. Stamp a Star of Light sentiment in VersaMark at the bottom and emboss that with Copper, too.
Emboss Resist Sponging—Use a Sponge Brayer to roll on Tempting Turquoise ink to the top of the embossed layer. Next, roll on some Pool Party ink on the center of the layer with a Sponge Brayer
Silver Star—Adhere the die-cut that was cut from the center of the background layer with Dimensionals on the card front. I love the subtle embossed lines on this Starlight die-cut. So pretty!
Complete Supplies List—"Clear" means a rubber stamp on a clear block. "Photopolymer" is see-thru.
