Hi Stamping Friends!

How is Halloween looking in your area? I'm starting to hear about Halloween being canceled in some areas already. Wow…if this is true, I'm so very sad for the kids! I normally don't send many, if any, Halloween cards, but I'm thinking that Halloween care packages may be in order for the little Trick-or-Treaters in my family and neighborhood. Here are a couple of cute card ideas courtesy of a couple of my demonstrator friends.

Rhonda's Everything Essential Haunting Card

I'm loving the fun & spooky layers on this swap card created by Rhonda Bassler! She used the very versatile Everything Essential Bundle! This stamp set has images for Halloween, Christmas and Valentine's Day, along with a coordinating classic shape tag punch! She also combines images from the Banner Year stamp set, which also has tons of small images for Halloween, autumn, Christmas and Thanksgiving. Lots of creative possibilities with these sets!

Background Basics—Rhonda begins by adhering a 3-3/4" x 3" piece of Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper onto a 4" x 5-1/4" black layer. She added a 4" x 1/4" strip of Pretty Peacock cardstock across the top of the DSP then mounted the background onto a vertically-folded 11" x 4-1/4" piece of Blackberry Bliss, scored at the 5-1/2" mark.

Everything Essential Haunting - bassler 2

Focal Point Layers—Rhonda stamped the Banner Year spider web in Memento Tuxedo Black ink over a 2-1/4" x 2-1/4" square of Whisper White. It's layered onto a 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" square of Cajun Craze and mounted onto the card front. Next, she stamped an Everything Essential jack-o-lantern onto Cajun Craze cardstock and a haunted house onto Pretty Peacock cardstock, both in Memento Black ink. The images were punched with the Essential Tag Punch and popped up with Dimensionals. You can save 10% when you purchase the Everything Essential stamp set and Essential Tag Punch!

Finishing Touches—She stamped a Banner Year sentiment in Memento Black onto Whisper White cardstock and stamped the Banner Year cobweb around it. It's punched with the 1-1/2" Circle Punch, then layered onto a Blackberry Bliss circle punched with the 2" Circle Punch. It's popped up, too. Rhonda finished by adding a couple of Rhinestone Jewels and a knotted faux-bow of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon. Looks like she added some Basic Gray ink to the ribbon to darken it for a more subtle textured element. Too Cool!

Monica's Happy Little Treats Spider Card

I'm loving this creepy spider card with cool sponged cobwebs, created by Monica Giberti! I also love the fun-fold style of this card…which you can't even tell at first glance. Check it out!

Background Basics—Monica's card begins with a vertically-folded Cinnamon Cider card base measuring 11" x 4-1/4" and scored at the 3-1/2" and 9" marks.

Next, she embossed the 4" x 3-/4" and 4" x 1-3/4" Basic Black cardstock pieces with the Cobwebs 3D Embossing Folder. What a fun Halloween texture! But, she made it even more fun by lightly sponging on White Craft Ink to bring out the cobwebs so they pop off the background! Too Cool!

Focal Point—Monica stamped the 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" Whisper White piece with the spider from the Little Treats stamp set. This is yet another multi-occasion stamp set that's perfect for decorating treats for Halloween, Christmas, birthdays, bridal showers and more! Wow…Stampin' Up! really puts a lot of versatility in these fun stamp sets! Monica adhered the stamped piece onto a 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" piece of Cajun Craze, tilted just a bit. It's mounted onto the top flap so that it overhangs over the bottom flap. She also added a 4" x 3/4" piece of coordinating Plaid Tidings DSP across the bottom of the front flap for a pop of color.

Finishing Touches—Monica stamped the Little Treats greeting in Cinnamon Cider ink onto Whisper White, then die-cut it with the Little Treat Box Dies. The Pretty Peacock scallop circle is also die-cut from the same die set and the circle is popped up with Dimensionals. She finished by die-cutting two creepy spiders from Black Glitter Paper with another die from the Little Treat Box dies. They are popped up, too. Perfect!
