#1 Darla's Merry Poinsettia Mini Treat Bag

Darla Eigenschink recently created this versatile treat bag that can decorate your holiday table while holding either treats, the dinner menu, or utensils.

Basic Mini Treat Bag—The base of the project is a basic paper bag created with Crumb Cake card stock using the Mini Treat Bag Holder.  You can see how it's assembled by watching this helpful video: Mini Treat Bag Thinlit Dies.

Pretty Poinsettia—My favorite part of Darla's project is the lovely poinsettia flower she created!  She paired up a Real Red Flower Medallion Punch shape along with Real Red Flourish Thinlits die-cuts!  I love the delicate detailed layers…such a clever use of non-holiday stamping tools!  The die-cuts are adhered with Glue Dots, then popped up onto the solid flower shape.  She also die-cut Garden Green leaves with the Leaflets Framelits.  A White Perfect Accent was added to the flower center.

Belly Band—Darla adhered a 8-1/2" x 1-1/4" strip of the This Christmas Designer Series Paper to a 8-1/2" x 1-1/2" strip of Basic Black card stock.  She added a little shimmer to the black edges with the Gold Wink of Stella pen, then wrapped the band around the bag, adhering the ends with Fast Fuse.

Finishing Touches—She wrapped some Gold Baker's Twine around the belly band and tied into a bow.  Finally, Darla die-cut a Gold Foil Christmas Greetings Thinlits word and adhered it with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen.

Complete Supplies List—"Clear" means a rubber stamp on a clear block. "Photopolymer" is see-thru.

#2 Peggy's Winter Christmas Pines Wrap

Peggy also created a utensil holder that looks great with winter-themed table décor!

Peggy - silver place setting 4

Basic Wrap—The wrap is created with a 8-1/2" x 8-1/2" square of Whisper White card stock.  Here's how to cut that unique shape…

Peggy - silver place setting 5

  • Place an 8-1/2" square piece of card stock on the Simply Scored with the points at the 6" horizontal and vertical marks on the tool.
  • Score on the 1-1/2", 4-1/2", 7-1/2" & 10-1/2" marks
  • Rotate the paper 90°, put the points on the 6" marks again.
  • Score on the 2" & 10" marks.  Trim off those corners at the score lines.
  • Fold the wrap on the score lines; no adhesive needed.
  • With the wrap closed, round the corners with the Project Life Corner Rounder Punch.

Texture—Peggy ran the folded wrap through the Big Shot using the Softly Falling Texture Impressions Folder on one side and then then other.

Pines & Pinecones—Peggy die-cut two sets of the three sizes of pine needles with the Pretty Pines Thinlits and the Precision Base Plate.  She adhered them with Fast Fuse.  She also die-cut two Silver Foil pinecones and two Whisper White solid cone shapes and adhered them together with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen.  They are adhered with Glue Dots over the pine needles.  She topped the pinecones with a 1/8" Silver Ribbon bow, also adhered with a Glue Dot.

Complete Supplies List—"Clear" means a rubber stamp on a clear block. "Photopolymer" is see-thru.
