Two Cool Masculine Cards From My Team

Hi Stamping Friends!

It can be a little more difficult coming up with masculine card ideas simply because the selection of "guy" stamps is limited.  Our Too Cool Team did a little masculine card swap last month and today's two cards were a couple of my favorites!

But first, don't forget…

Debbie - one wild ride swap

CASEd from Dawn Griffith at Dawn's Stamping Thoughts.

One Wild Ride Motorcycle Card

I'm not typically a fan of motorcycles, so I wasn't planning on getting the One Wild Ride stamp set, but after Debbie Groulik had us create this card at our shoebox swap, I may have changed my mind!  It's just a fun and well-coordinated stamp set, and it's just right for lots of guys (and girls) out there!

Did you know that the set was actually inspired and co-designed by million-dollar-achiever Dawn Griffith from Dawn's Stamping Thoughts?  I love that Stampin' Up! allows some of the top demos to have a hand in creating a special stamp set to commemorate their milestone success!  Too Cool!

Background Basics—We started by stamping the One Wild Ride sentiment in Basic Black Archival Ink at the bottom of a Smoky Slate card base, then we stamped the Route 66 stamp in Basic Gray Archival Ink all over the front.  We filled in around the images with the textured pavement image in Basic Gray, too.  Next, we layered a 4-1/4" x 1-1/2" piece of the retiring striped black Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack paper onto a 4-1/4" x 2" layer of Basic Black card stock.  It's adhere to the card base with SNAIL.

Focal Point—We stamped the One Wild Ride motorcycle in Basic Black Archival Ink onto Whisper White card stock, then die-cut it with the Layering Circles Framelits.  It's layered onto a Silver Foil circle punched out with the 2" Circle Punch.  That's popped up with Dimensionals.

Finishing Touches—We added some tiny Silver Foil stars, punched from the retiring Confetti Stars Punch, with a little Multipurpose Glue for more shiny accents.  Oh, I just love how this card turned out!  Must have this set now!

Amy - wetlands masculine birthday

High Tide Sand Piper Birthday Card

I love the soft colors and the cool ocean theme of this masculine card designed by Amy VanHuisen!  She used layers of stamping, rather than layers of paper and embellishments, to create this clean & simple card!

Stamped Background—We stamped the sandy oval image from the High Tide stamp set in Crumb Cake near the bottom of a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Whisper White card stock to represent the beach.  Then, we added a long splotch image from the Happy Celebrations in Soft Sky ink to represent the ocean.  Next, we stamped another Happy Celebrations scribble image on the top in Crushed Curry to represent the sun!  We finished the look by stamping the High Tide birds and the Big On Birthdays sentiment in Chocolate Chip over the top of the beachfront landscape—awesomeness!

Finishing TouchesThe layer was adhere to a 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" Delightful Dijon mat, then to a 5-1/4" x 4" Soft Sky mat.  We wrapped some Linen Thread around the bottom a couple times and tied it into a knot for a little natural texture, then popped up the layer onto a Sahara Sand card base with Dimensionals.  This card has a laid-back, easy feeling!  Ahhhh!
