Hi Stamping Friends!

At our September Too Cool Team event, we did a shoebox swap featuring bundles from the Holiday Catalog and one of the most popular ones featured was the Paisleys & Posies Bundle!  It's not a surprise…those paisleys are beautiful!

Today, I'm sharing two of the Paisleys & Posies cards we created, designed by my team members Rita Berning and Amy VanHuisen.

Rita's Razzleberry Blessed Paisleys Card

Oooh!  I love the look of Rita Berning's monochromatic thank you card with a pop of copper metallic!

Background Basics—Rita's card begins with a 4" x 5-1/4" layer of Rich Razzleberry card stock on a Sweet Sugarplum card base.  Next, she added a 2-3/4" x 5" layer of Petals & Posies Designer Series Paper in a matching Rich Razzleberry pattern.

Pretty Paisleys—Rita stamped and die-cut a trio of paisley accents with the Paisleys & Posies Bundle for the focal point.  The larger scallop circle layer was stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink on Rich Razzleberry card stock and the smaller scallop circle was stamped in Sweet Sugarplum on Sweet Sugarplum card stock.  The paisley shapes were also stamped in Sweet Sugarplum onto Sweet Sugarplum, then all of the shapes were die-cut with the Paisley Framelits.

She also used the framelits to die-cut some gorgeous Copper Foil accents that she layered on top of the embellishments.  The Sweet Sugarplum layers are popped up with Dimensionals and the copper pieces are adhered with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen.

Sweet Sentiment—Rita stamped the Paisleys & Posies greeting in VersaMark ink onto a 2-7/8" x 1-1/8" piece of Sweet Sugarplum, then heat embossed it with Copper Embossing Powder.  She also sponged the edges with more Sugarplum ink and popped this element up with Dimensionals.  So lovely!

Rita's Complete Supplies List—"Clear" means a rubber stamp on a clear block. "Photopolymer" is see-thru.

Amy - paisleys card 1

Amy's Black & White Embossed Paisleys Card

Amy VanHuisen designed this delightful black & white card with small pops of color.  I love the embossing on this card!

Amy - paisleys card 2

Embossed Paisleys Background—Amy stamped her awesome 5" x 3-3/4" Very Vanilla background in two steps.  The first is to stamp and emboss the three main paisley images from Paisleys & Posies.  Since Stampin' Up! no longer has Black Embossing Powder, you can get that look by stamping first in VersaMark Ink, then stamping in Archival Black Ink, then quickly embossing with Clear Embossing Powder.

The second step is to stamp the smaller Paisleys & Posies images all over to fill in the white spaces.  The layer is matted onto a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Basic Black, then adhered to a Very Vanilla card base.

Embossed Accent—Amy did more embossing on the 5" x 1" Basic Black accent strip, stamping in VersaMark and embossing with Clear Embossing Powder.

Amy - paisleys card 4

Finishing Touches—Amy colored in the three main paisleys with Flirty Flamingo, Real Red and Sweet Sugarplum Stampin' Write Markers.  She also added a large Rhinestone Jewel to each of the designs.

Sweet Sentiment—The greeting from Thoughtful Banners is stamped with Archival Black Ink onto Very Vanilla, then punched with the coordinating Duet Banner Punch and popped up with Dimensionals.  A couple more Rhinestones Jewels were added to each side.

Amy's Complete Supplies List—"Clear" means a rubber stamp on a clear block. "Photopolymer" is see-thru.
