Hi Stamping Friends!
It's the LAST DAY to register for my Snow Place Stamp-of-the-Month class, and I'm tempting you with two more cute snowman ideas that you could use with your new Snow Place set! These fun treat boxes were created by a couple of my team members for a swap we did back in October.
Kathe Madsen created a super-cute treat with all the makings of "Snowman Soup," aka festive hot cocoa! I love that she made "two cool" versions of the box!
Mini Pizza Box Basics—Kathe started with a simple "pizza box" style holder in either Marina Mist or Pool Party. You can find the instructions for making this classic-style box at Splitcoast Stampers: Mini Pizza Box Treat Box. The measurements are simple to adjust for any size box.
Kathe's Box Instructions:
- Start with a 5-1/2" x 11-3/4"" piece of card stock.
- Score along the 11-3/4" side at 3/4", 5-1/2", 6-1/4" and 11".
- Score along the 5-1/2" side at 3/4" and 4-3/4".
- Along both 5-1/2" sides, create tabs by snipping the score lines up the first score line.
- Assemble the box by securing the tabs in a pizza box shape. See how.
- Decorate!
Box & Belly Band—Kathe added two 4" x 1/4" strips of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper along the top and bottom of the box top. She also created a simple belly band to keep the box closed. The main band is 10-3/4" long x 1" wide Whisper White strip with a 10-3/4" long x 1/2" wide Red Glimmer Paper strip on top. The ends are secured at the top where they will be hidden under the snowman.
Snowman—Kathe stamped the Snow Place snowman in Archival Black ink and decorated him with a Black hat, Real Red scarf, Garden Green & Real Red holly, and Early Espresso card stock arms. All of the pieces are die-cut with the coordinating Snow Friends Framelits. She added Rhinestone Jewels on the berries and colored them with a red Sharpie. The snowman is popped up onto a Whisper White Oval Collections Framelits die-cut that's embossed with the Softly Falling texture and sponged with Pool Party. The whole oval is attached to the belly band only so it will easily slip off the box.
Snowman Soup Ingredients—Kathe filled the box with all the makings of Snowman Soup: hot cocoa packet, a cello bag of marshmallows, some Hershey's Kisses chocolates and a mini candy cane (not shown—no, I didn't eat it, they just didn't have candy canes on sale yet in October when she made this!)
Snowman Soup Recipe—Kathe also added the Snowman Soup recipe poem that explains this extra-special holiday treat!

#2) Carmen's Snow Place Let It Snow Gift Box
Carmen DeBruce also created a Snow Place snowman gift box for our swap! This one opens like a book and ties closed with a ribbon. She CASEd this adorable project from Angie Juda at Chic 'n Scratch.
Box Basics—The basic box is created from a 6-1/8" square piece of Soft Sky, scored on every side 1-1/2" in from the edge. Snip the tabs on opposite sides and assemble the basic box. The box cover measures 3-3/4" x 8-1/2", scored along the 8-1/2" side at 3-1/2" and 5". Attach a 8" ribbon to the bottom of the box, then adhere the box onto the inside of the cover with Tear & Tape Adhesive. The other 8" ribbon will be adhered to the top of the box cover. Now you're ready to decorate. Check out Angie Juda's Snow Place Box video for a demonstration.
Background Basics—The background is created with a 3" x 3-1/4" layer of Soft Sky, covered by a 3" x 3-1/4" layer of the snow Holiday Fancy Foil vellum, then layered onto a 3-1/4" x 3-1/2" piece of Whisper White. Now you can attach that other 8" ribbon underneath these layers.
Cover Décor—Carmen decorated the box top very much like Kathe's snowman, stamped in Archival Black with a Real Red tie. The sentiment is stamped onto a 2-5/8" x 1/2" piece Whisper White and fishtailed on the ends.
Gift Box—The cover to the box opens like a book and gives you plenty of room for a small gift, money or candy!
