Softly Stippled Thoughtful Expressions Card
Cindy Westerink created this beautiful and cleverly designed card spotlighting the Softly Stippled DSP. As soon as I saw her card, I immediately fell in love with the awesome background layout. I wonder if there is some trick to make this clever trapezoidal shapes! Do you know of an easy way to do it?
Background Basics
If I were to try to duplicate this card, I would take two 3-7/8″ x 2″ patterns of Softly Stippled DSP, then mark the right edge of both at the 1″ mark. I would cut the top pattern from the lower left corner to the half-way 1″ mark on the right side. For the bottom piece, I would cut from the top left to the right middle. On the middle 3-7/8″ x 3″ pattern and mark the 1″ and 2″ places on the left edge. Then, I would cut from the left 1″ mark to the upper right side and the left 2″ mark to the lower right side.
Cindy adhered all the DSP pieces to a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock, then mounted onto a Thick Basic White card base.

Focal Point
Cindy die-cut a Basic White Thoughtful Expressions scallop circle and stamped a Thoughtful Expressions sentiment on it in Lost Lagoon ink. She popped that greeting up with Dimensionals in the center left of the middle DSP panel.
Next she die-cut some Lost Lagoon leaves and Wild Wheat flower with the Thoughtful Expressions Dies. The leaves are tucked under the sentiment and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The flower is popped up with a Mini Dimensional.
Finishing Touches
Cindy finished the card with a few Pool Party Opaque Faceted Gems, another one of the Sale-a-Bration selections for a $50 order. So pretty!
Softly Stippled Thoughtful Moments Card
Here’s another pretty Softly Stippled DSP card, this time created by Barb Mullikin and featuring the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder. Oooh, this product is ultra-cool!
Background Basics
Barb began by adhering a 1-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Softly Stippled DSP down the left side of a Thick Basic White card base. Next, she added two more patterns of Softly Stippled DSP to a 3-1/8″ x 4-3/8″ piece of Lost Lagoon: a 3″ x 3″ piece and a 3″ x 1-1/4″ piece. She wrapped some of the fun Pool Party Crinkle Ribbon around the seam, securing the ends to the back of the layers before adhering everything to the card front with SEAL Adhesive.

Embossed Sentiment
The Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder is so much fun! The words can be inked, embossed and die-cut all in one pass of the die-cutting machine! First, Barb brayered some Wild Wheat ink onto the logo side of the hybrid embossing folder, added the coordinating die, laid some Wild Wheat cardstock on top of that, then ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. All in one pass, the words are embossed with a cool inked tone-on-tone outline and die-cut, ready to place as an element onto the card! She popped it up with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches
Like the first card, Barb used some Pool Party Opaque Faceted Gems around this focal point. Love it!
