There are so many amazing products to play with in the Everything Is Rosy product medley! One awesome product is the Rose Gold Shimmer Paint, which is fabulous for all kinds of cool techniques! Yesterday, I shared how easy and fun it was to stamp with Shimmer Paint. This project features flecks of Shimmer Paint added with the help of an Aqua Painter. Let's check out the details!
Stamped Bouquet—I started with a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White and I stamped the Everything Is Rosy floral images to create a bouquet in the corner:
- Stamp the large flowers in Melon Mambo in full-strength and stamped off about 5 times over the corner.
- Stamp the medium flowers in Night of Navy stamped off about 3 times.
- Add small flower centers in stamped off Night of Navy to the Melon Mambo flowers.
- Add flower center dots image in Melon Mambo to the Melon Mambo flowers.
- Stamp leafy branch in full-strength Night of Navy to fill in the blank spaces.
Fantastic Flecks—Fill an Aqua Painter with water or rubbing alcohol (for faster drying). Dip the brush into the Shimmer Paint, then run your finger over the brush tip to add "flecks" of shimmer over your stamped layer. You can also snap the Aqua Painter against your finger held over the layer to splatter it. Practice on scrap paper first to get the hang of it. Once you have your desired amount of shimmer specks, let dry thoroughly. Rinse out the brush immediately.
Background Basics—I added a 3-3/4" x 1" Night of Navy cardstock strip across the bottom of the stamped layer, then popped it up with Dimensionals onto a Melon Mambo card base.
Finishing Touches—I stamped the Everything Is Rosy sentiment in Melon Mambo ink onto a rose gold pre-cut label and popped it up onto the card front with more Dimensionals. I finished by adding a couple of the shiny Rose Gold Mirror Embellishments to the Night of Navy band. So sweet!
The Rose Gold Shimmer Paint in the Rosy Product Medley opens up a whole new level of creativity! I used two cool Shimmer Paint techniques on this card!
Background Basics—I started by adding a 5-1/2" x 2" piece of the Melon Mambo/Rose Gold pattern of Everything Is Rosy DSP to the bottom of a Night of Navy card base. Next, I adhered a 5-1/2" x 3/4" strip of the Night of Navy striped DSP above it.
Spritzed Shimmer—My focal point layer starts by spritzing on some Rose Gold Shimmer Paint over the background. To do this, fill a Stampin' Spritzer about 2/3 of the way with rubbing alcohol. Water will work, too, you just may need to dry it with a Heat Tool. Add 2-3 drops of Shimmer Paint into the Spritzer, shake it gently and spritz! I spritzed over a 4-1/4" x 3" piece of Melon Mambo cardstock until I got the coverage I was wanting. You may want to practice spritzing on scrap paper, to get the feel of the spray coverage.
Beautiful Bouquet—After it's completely dry, I stamped the Everything Is Rosy leaves in Night of Navy ink onto the background, so that they would appear to be part of the bouquet. Next, I layered the piece onto a 4-3/8" x 3-1/8" piece of Rose Gold Foil. Then, I wrapped a piece of the Night of Navy Metallic-Edge Ribbon around the layers, securing the ends on the back with SNAIL and popped up the layers onto the card front with Dimensionals. Finally, I added one of the pre-printed die-cuts over the top with Dimensionals.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Everything Is Rosy greeting in Night of Navy onto a rose gold foil label and popped up onto the card front.
Shimmery Accents—Check out the flower centers! I used a Piercing Tool (or you could use a toothpick) to pick up Shimmer Paint and drop small dots of it on each of the flowers! I also added a few Shimmer Dots around the bouquet, as well! This photo shows the detail of those cool dots and the background shimmer spritz! I'm in LOVE with this look!
