Country Birdhouse Hello Friend Card
I received this sweet card from Monica Davis in a card swap. What an adorable little bird and birdhouse, created with the Country Birdhouse Bundle. I love how this bundle complements the Country Flowers Bundle for great mix & match possibilities.
Background Basics
Monica started by embossing a 3-1/4″ x 4-3/4″ piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock with the Eyelet Embossing Folder, then mounted it flush left onto a Misty Moonlight card base.
Focal Point
Monica Used the Country Birdhouse Dies to create a lovely little birdhouse. First she die-cut a Basic White full birdhouse foundation. Next, she added the rest of the die-cut elements: Gray Granite base and roof, Country Woods house, Basic White scalloped trim and Basic Black hole. She used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to assemble. The whole birdhouse is popped up with Dimensionals.
Sweet Bird
Monica stamped the Country Birdhouse bird image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Basic White, then colored with Pool Party and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends Markers. It’s die-cut with the Country Birdhouse Dies and popped up with Dimensionals.
Sweet Sentiment
She stamped the Country Birdhouse sentiment in Misty Moonlight onto a 1-1/2″ x 3/4″ piece of Basic White and popped that up, as well.
Finishing Touches
The bow is so cute! Monica cut some Petal Pink Diagonal Trim in half length-wise and tie into a bow. She attached with Glue Dots. I love how the loose, frayed threads from the ribbon is reminiscent of a bird’s nest. Perfect! She finished with a few Smoky Slate Pearls.
Country Woods Birthday Wishes Card
Here’s another cool swap card I received, this time created by Dawn Stock and featuring the versatile Country Woods Designer Series Paper in an awesome block-style background.
Background Basics
Dawn started by cutting several Country Woods DSP pieces: two 1-1/4″ x 1-1/4″ and four 1-1/4″ x 2-1/2″. She adhered them onto a 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ piece of Gray Granite cardstock. She embossed the whole layered piece with the Timber Embossing Folder, then mounted it onto a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic Beige. She layered that onto a 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ piece of Early Expresso, then adhered to the front of a Gray Granite card base.
Sweet Sentiment
Dawn stamped the Simply Said sentiment onto a 2-1/2″ x 1-1/4″ piece of Gray Granite. She stamped a Leaf Collection background pattern onto the sentiment layer with Basic Beige. It’s layered onto a 2-5/8″ x 1-3/8″ piece of Basic Beige and a 2-3/4″ x 1-1/2″ piece of Early Espresso. It’s all popped up with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches
Dawn tied a double bow using Very Vanilla and Gray Granite Baker’s Twine from the Essentials Baker’s Twine Pack and attached the bow with a Glue Dot. She also added a few Neutrals Sequins in Copper, Espresso and Silver colors.
My favorite part of the card is the awesome sparkly gold that is splattered over the whole card front. I’m guessing that she added a dab of gold Metallic Enamel Effects inside a Stampin’ Spritzer, along with rubbing alcohol, then sprayed it liberally over the top. Ooooh…what a WOW!
