Thoughtful Expressions No Words Card
Here’s a pretty Z-Fold card spotlighting the beautiful hummingbird from the Thoughtful Expressions stamp set. Get out your Stampin’ Blends Markers and create a brilliant and colorful bird!
Background Basics
I started with a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Boho Blue cardstock, scored at the 2-1/8″ and 4-1/4″ marks. It’s folded in a Z-fold style. I adhered a 3″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Poetic Expressions Designer Series Paper to the front, positioned so that it becomes the right side of the card front. Then, I embossed a 1″ x 5-1/4″ strip of Boho Blue cardstock with the Distressed Tile Embossing Folder and adhered that down the left side.
Focal Point Foundation
I die-cut Lost Lagoon and Basic White Thoughtful Expressions Dies labels, stamped a Thoughtful Expressions sentiment in Boho Blue on the white one, then adhered them together and mounted them onto the card front.
Stamped & Colored Elements
I stamped the hummingbird, two flowers and floral sprig in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Basic White cardstock. Then, I used a variety of light Stampin’ Blends Markers to color the images. The flowers are colored with either Fresh Freesia or Boho Blue with Lemon Lolly centers and Lost Lagoon leaves. The sprig is colored with Moody Mauve flowers and Mossy Meadow leaves. The hummingbird is a combination of Lemon Lolly, Boho Blue, Lost Lagoon, Fresh Freesia and Moody Mauve Blends. All images are die-cut with the Thoughtful Expressions dies. The flowers and hummingbird are popped up with Dimensionals. The sprig is cut in half and both sides are tucked under the top label and attached with SEAL.
Finishing Touches
I added a few Boho Blue 2023-2025 In Color Dots around the focal point for some shine. These awesome embellishments are retiring, so get them soon!
Inside The Card
I decorated the inside with another coordinating Thoughtful Expressions sentiment and more floral elements with similar coloring.
Thoughtful Expressions Flower Blocks Card
I love using stamped elements to create my own decorative paper and this card features that technique with one of the Thoughtful Expressions images.
Background Basics
I started with a Lost Lagoon traditional size card base and I added a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer to the front. Next, I adhered 1-1/2″ x 1-1/2″ and 2-1/4″ x 1-3/4″ pieces of Boho Blue patterned Poetic Expressions DSP to the bottom left and top right corners of the Basic White layer.
Then, I stamped the small Thoughtful Expressions flower in Memento Black ink over two pieces of Basic White cardstock measuring 1-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ and 2-1/4″ x 3-1/4″. TIP: When stamping randomly over a piece of cardstock, I start at one corner and work diagonally and from the inside toward the outer edges, turning the image a bit each time I stamp.
I colored the images with light Old Olive leaves and either Lost Lagoon, Boho Blue or Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blends colors. I adhered the finished pieces in the blank spots on the background.
Focal Point Layers
I used the Thoughtful Expressions Dies to cut a larger Lost Lagoon scalloped label and two-sizes smaller Basic White scalloped circle label. I stamped a Thoughtful Expressions sentiment in Boho Blue ink onto the Basic White label.
I die-cut the other Thoughtful Expressions Dies label shape in the smallest size in Fresh Freesia cardstock. I cut the label in half and re-positioned them peeking out of the top and bottom of the sentiment label.
Assembling the Focal Point
I adhered the Lost Lagoon label to the card front with SEAL first. Next, I added some SEAL on the back of the sentiment label and folded some Boho Blue Textured Ribbon behind it before popping the whole thing up with Dimensionals. I die-cut a couple of Old Olive leaves from the dies set and attaching them with SEAL. Then I added a few Festive Pearls around the focal point, too. Just lovely!
